Join us at the scheduled time using the Google Meet code: UNYCA.
Dear Delegates, Faculty, and Friends,
I am thrilled to invite you to the 17th iteration of the United Nations York Catholic Assembly! Established in 2003, UNYCA is York Region’s oldest and largest Model United Nations conference. For years, UNYCA has been committed to our enduring goal of creating an accessible conference for high school students of all levels of experience. Continuing into 2025, I am deeply honoured to serve as your Secretary-General.
Annually, we welcome hundreds of students to discuss pressing global issues and unique topics. On behalf of UNYCA’s team we have worked tirelessly to bring an opportunity for delegates willing to take on the challenges of public speaking and personal development. From approaching present-day concerns of sustainability and conflict in the world, to playing key-decision makers in unpredictable circumstances, there are many interesting committees this year. I sincerely hope that all of you will step out of your comfort zone and spare no effort to solve the issues at hand. For even the most experienced of delegates, UNYCA is devoted to building a community and environment that fosters growth.
For four years, I have been part of the Model UN community. I have found countless friendships, explored a diverse range of perspectives, and indulged in my creativity. I would like to extend these wonderful experiences to you. Through UNYCA, I hope each delegate will leave with things of value. New skills, perhaps, fond memories. I have confidence in the effort that has been put into this conference, and I am eager to see you tackle the committees that we have prepared.
This conference would not be possible without the continuous effort of the UNYCA team, but above all, we would like to thank Ms. Mansey for making this conference possible. We are privileged to have your support and guidance in planning this conference.
If you have any questions or issues, feel free to contact me at jennyzhang1864@gmail.com. I look forward to seeing you all in May!
Sincerely,
Jenny Zhang
