I fell in love with history during an ancestor project in Grade 3. I asked my Grandmama about her life and one of the many things she told me about was how her brother was in World War II but didn't survive. A few years later when I was in Grade 5 or 6 my Grandmama gave my Dad an old suitcase with all the old letters, newspaper clippings, and even my Great Uncle's medals. I went through the trunk reading the letters, newspaper clippings, and telegrams. This only solidified my love of history, or more specifically World War II. After that, I watched and read I everything could on World War II. I now watch any historical documentary I can get my hand on, and still try to read books on different subjects but I don't love reading as much.
Choosing to not learn your history is the biggest ignorance of all and will be the downfall of man
I have always loved history but am always confused and frustrated with the little amount that is commonly taught. Most of the people I talk to say they hate history because it is boring and just about memorizing dates, places, and names. The crazy thing is that most exciting events and people are skipped over so history is given the perception of being boring and irrelevant. So, I decided to change that with the site. I am not an expert in history but decided to expand my knowledge by creating this site.
