About Us

UNR Improv Club was founded by Noah Ahmed and Sasha Koroleva in 2021. Improv has been a passion for the two since high school. So when Noah was transferring to UNR and Sasha was just starting her college career, they knew that they couldn’t let go of improv and wanted to share everything they’ve learned over their years of doing improv. The first semester started out with just about eight members and a couple shows as of Spring 2023, their membership grew to around 50 members. They put on shows every month (which are completely free) and give their members a chance to showcase their progress in improv and sharpen their performance skills. 

Their officer team has grown as well. Now five wonderful people work hard to create a welcoming, accepting, and exciting environment that is UNR Improv. The team includes Jaden Jeanes-Ewing, (Club President), Samuel Kahnke, (Vice President and Director of Outreach), Autumn Heckler, Director of Production, Rhea Wojack, [fmr. Ash Thompson] (Director of Administration), and Samuel Akem, [fmr. Madeline Veric] (Director of Marketing). For this team, improv isn’t just a form of comedy, it’s an escape from reality where they can leave the worries of their everyday lives behind the door and allow themselves to have the creative freedom to express themselves in a supportive environment. 

Over the past couple of years the club was also able to get involved with other clubs on campus as well as the greater Reno community. UNR Improv club is proud to say that they had a chance to work with the University of Nevada Reno's Comedy Club, Dance Marathon, the Associated Students of the University of Nevada Reno (ASUN), the University of Nevada Las Vegas' Rebel Improv, Reno Improv, and Reno Little Theatre! It is UNR Improv’s goal to share the love of improv with the community so that everyone has a chance to be a part of the community and join in the fun!
