The digital timetable and abstract booklet can be downloaded below. Contributions are listed with oral presentations in the order of their position in the timetable, followed by the poster abstracts.
The Unravelling the Palaeolithic conference 2024 is offering three contribution types: oral presentations, posters and workshops / performances. Further details on these are provided below.
Oral presentations will be strictly limited to 15 minutes in total. Please note that while there will be time for questions and answers, this will be held at the end of each session, rather than at the end of each talk. Please ensure you stick to time to allow space for questions and discussion at the end of each session.
UTP2024 will be a hybrid conference, and we are happy to accept virtual presentations. These can be either live or pre-recorded and will be similarly limited to 15 minutes. Where papers are pre-recorded, we would ask that presenters attend the session to answer questions and contribute to discussion at the end of the session where possible.
Posters should be printed at size A0 (84.1 cm x 118.9 cm or 33.1 inches x 46.8 inches) in portrait orientation. Posters will be hung on Thursday morning during the registration period, please speak to a member of the conference organising team for help in hanging your poster. In the event that you cannot attend the conference in-person, please post your poster 1 week in advance to the following address: PalaeoHub, Wentworth Way, Heslington, York, YO10 5DD, UK.
If your research involves work that would be best showcased through a workshop, demonstration or performance, please get in touch with the conference organisers (unravellingpalaeo@gmail.com) alongside your abstract submission to discuss your requirements and we will do our best to accommodate this within the programme.
We are delighted to be able to offer prizes to the best early career oral presentation and the best early career poster. Prizes will be judged by a cross-institutional panel of UTP conference organisers. Please indicate on your submission form if you would like to be considered for any of these prizes.

If this is your first conference contribution, or you are in the early stages of disseminating your research at conferences, and feel that you would benefit from some mentorship in putting together your contribution, the conference organisers are happy to help support you. We can offer advice on poster and presentation design, as well as presentation practice. Please indicate on your abstract submission form if you would like this, and one of the team will be in touch with you.
