Financial Cost

To join NSEA-AE, the membership fee is $40 (plus a $10 fee for the UNL chapter) per year. This $40 fee provides AE members with many of the same perks that active teachers receive, but it also covers the cost of the NEA EEL Program, which is professional liability insurance. This provides you with protection and support if something unexpected happens while student teaching. By joining AE, you will also receive support and advice from experienced professionals who have extensive knowledge in the field of education. They can help improve your resume, advise about career fairs, advocate for you, and consult with you when signing contracts or applying to jobs. If your chapter requires a small local due to be paid, in addition to the NSEA fee, the cost of the local due covers the supplies and materials needed to plan fun activities and events. After you graduate, you will get all of your membership fees back!
