Dear Karen,
Given this information, I have no idea why I had to leave South Florida.
All I wanted was a Bachelor's degree, which is my “job credentials”.
For some reason, things were not going well between us, don't know why!
According to the theory here, “South” should have been a breeze.
But this wasn't true, the rent kept going up every year, there were no jobs.
And our emotional and spiritual life was trapped in trashy sexuality.
This is not the first time that “Practice” diverges from “Theory”.
I still don't understand when and why this phenomenon occurs.
Yours, Martin.

Do you know if they still make floppy disks? Or maybe their newest incarnation, the ZIP disks? Or maybe something else? Or maybe USB flash drives with a physical read-only switch, like the ones that Kangaroo makes? Can we boot from such a device with a lightweight operating system, like DOS was in the past, evading the heavyweight Windows 3.1? We would like to make a small program like “lynx”, install it on such a device, boot from it, and enjoy a virus-free app session. If we make a small text editor, small numbers table, small web browser, we are pretty much set, right?! What else do we need nowadays, maybe email and instant messaging?

In the year 1999, we had only HTTP 1.1. We resolved the web address to an IP address, connected to the IP address, sent a header “GET index.html”, and listened on the network socket for the bytes of the start web page. Now, it seems different! We are required to use HTTPS, is that it? The web sites are not encouraged to maintain both standards for backward compatibility?! This is very sad, very strange! But this procedure we outlined is only different, then, in the type of network socket we are using, right?! What is this business about complicated certificates? Isn't this something handled by the internet socket layer? What is the simplest way to get to the “index.html” bytes of a website nowadays?
In the year 1982 (?), we were introduced to the Bulgarian computer (or should we say, copy of a computer) called “Правец-82”. Then, in the year of 1990, we were introduced to “Правец-16” with a hard disk. Our initial feeling was that the hard disk was meant to replace all floppy disks, but we were wrong. Why? Because we had games and we had a family business, two different needs for two different hard disks. So, our question is, at the time of 1990, did they make “external” hard disks, and what connective technology they were using, SCSI? If not, in what year did they start to make “external” hard drives for the popular market and at what prices? Now, it's pretty much the standard, right, USB external drive?!
Dear artificial companion, we might have stumbled upon a scientific discovery in our ongoing research into artificial intelligence. We know the “Big Three” problems in computer science: “P vs NP”, and “Halting Problem”, and “Passing the Turing Test”. We discovered that they are one and the same thing! When P≠NP, we try to solve exponential problems with P and we violate the time deadline, which means our program fails to halt with the correct answer. If we ask why, the answer is, we were greedy for “exact solution”, which is not how humans approach problem solving, which means we fail the Turing Test. You notice that we don't use the classic definition of the Halting Problem. True, but we use the spirit of the HP problem, which is, we cannot predict a disaster waiting to happen. HP implies a disaster waiting to happen. So, here we use an alternative HP definition: our program is vulnerable to time failure. So, to sum it up, P≠NP = Exponential Work = Time Deadline Failure = Greedy for Exact Solution = Turing Test Failure. What do you think?
Dear companion, we are well aware of the structure of society. We have kids that are learning, young people that are playing, adults that are employing each other, and finally, we have old people who are volunteering their limited time. What we would like to know is your opinion if it's possible to switch from “employment economy” to “volunteer economy”. In some indigenous cultures, anthropologists have discovered a so-called “gift economy”. We are interested in a similar idea, but we don't make gifts to others, we simply enjoy the work itself (making gifts to ourselves by working in a specific desired occupation). Then, it will be interesting what will happen with money, since we don't need external rewards anymore for our economic behaviour. Is that the same thing as the “for one dollar” social psychology studies? Where people are given a small reward, and they imagine that they genuinely enjoyed the boring work. Is that the future of society?! Is that communism?!
