Welcome to our Learning Resource Website. Please meet our team.
Katie (she/her)
I was raised in Edmonton, Alberta, as a second generation Dutch immigrant. Much of my adult identity has revolved around unraveling the ways religion taught me to restrict the voices of others (and myself). As I learn to listen to the needs and limitations of my own body, I have become more aware of how hard I try to discipline myself into an acceptable narrative of how to be in this world. I am a writer and lifelong learner, passionate about pursuing justice and imagining more expansive ways of living and connecting in this world.
Katherine (she/her)
I am a white woman, mother and wife, born and raised in Ontario, Canada, with British roots. I was raised in a small community with very little diversity, and in a home strongly guided by fundamentalist religious beliefs. I am on a learning journey to expand my awareness and understanding of marginalization, systemic oppression and socio-cultural institutions that operate in inequitable ways.
Nicole (she/her)
I am a white woman from rural Alberta, Canada. My ancestors immigrated to Quebec from France in 1909, later settling in New Westminster, British Columbia. I belong to a traditional family with a sister to share adventures with and both parents active in my upbringing. I consider myself an eternal learner, eagerly absorbing my surroundings and studying human interactions with the environment.
Eric (He/They)
Born to two Danish immigrants I have contextualized my worldview in a Scandinavian/Canadian context. Additionally, elements of my knowledge are gained through my journey as a queer person. Intersecting my own queer identity is that of my physical disability. I am living with rheumatoid arthritis, which means drag and skiing, the pillars of my culture, near impossible.
