We will be performing as part of Carowinds Festival of Music. This event is open to choirs, orchestras and bands from elementary through high school from all over the southeast US. Our performance will be judged by 2-3 well-respected choral conductors/composers/professors where we will receive specific feedback and a rating regarding our performance. The past two years we've earned Superior ratings (that's like an A!), so we're hoping to do that again!

Students should wear their chorus tee, khakis (and I would recommend athletic shoes) for the performance. Their khakis can be pants, shorts or a skirt, but should be in UPA dress code.
After the performance they’re welcome to change, or keep their UPA chorus shirt on to represent!
If rain is in the forecast, please be prepared!

The cost of parking is NOT included in your Festival of Music ticket. From what I understand, parking is $39 per vehicle. I strongly recommend connecting with other chorus parents to potentially car pool if you’re concerned about the cost. Plan to park in the regular parking area.
Click to see the schedule for Saturday, April 11th!
The Festival of Music maintains a VERY strict schedule, so it’s important that we think EARLY just to be safe. I would hate for us to lose the opportunity to perform because we weren’t ready, or for a student to not get to perform at all because they were too late to enter warm-ups with us. Therefore the schedule might seem like too much time, but remember, we have 32 students and their families all entering the park, so it’s a big group to move!

EVERYONE who purchased a ticket through Festival of Music should meet outside the park at the location marked on the map. After tickets have been distributed, chorus members and at least one parent per student must stay with the group as we enter the park together and head directly to the theater TOGETHER. Other attendees/family members/etc are welcome to do their own thing once they have their tickets.
Below are (will be) two different maps. One is a satellite map to help you see where to park and exactly where to meet outside of the park. The other is (will be) a map of the park to see where we need to go in the park for the performance. Please refer to these as you read through the schedule above. (We will be performing in a new location this year, so I need to make a new park map. So check back soon for the updated park map!)

After that, be on the lookout for more info about possibly doing a few more rehearsals to perform at HS Graduation!
