The Unified Stage Project began as a community service learning project during Levi Donoghue's junior year, inspired by the need for more accessible opportunities for individuals with disabilities in theater. As someone passionate about the arts and inclusion, Levi wanted to challenge the exclusion that many people with special needs face due to limited accommodations in traditional productions. The project has now evolved into Levi's Capstone project, which will also help him earn his Global Citizen endorsement.
Through inclusive performances, sensory-friendly designs, and community engagement, The Unified Stage Project continues to push for equity and accessibility in the arts, providing a platform for all individuals to express themselves creatively.
Preformed The Show Must Go On...Right?.
I’ve successfully brought parents and volunteers together to ensure rehearsals run smoothly.
Met with Jen Walsh,
I’ve created a space where everyone feels included, valued, and excited to participate.
This journey has been so rewarding, and I’m excited to see what comes next.
I’ve worked hard to bring Unified Stage to life, creating a theater program where everyone feels welcome and included. From developing the idea to putting together shows like The Show Must Go On...Right?, I’ve taken steps to ensure theater is accessible to people with disabilities and that everyone involved has a chance to shine. I’ve also coordinated parents, actors, and volunteers to build a supportive and collaborative community.
I’m most proud of staying true to my vision of inclusivity and creativity. Seeing my ideas come to life and watching people connect through theater has been amazing. I’ve also worked on scripts like The Puzzle Room, adding unique touches like a comedian character to make the stories engaging and fun. Balancing leadership, creativity, and collaboration has been a challenge, but it’s one I’ve embraced fully.
