Another 2026 City Connect uniform has surfaced, with a new look for the Kansas City Royals now coming out. I have confirmed that the Royals are getting a new City Connect this season.
The design carries over a few things from the old set. The “Hey Hey Hey Hey” on the inside collar was also on the old jerseys, and the script R on the left breast with the crown above it looks nearly identical to what was on the sleeve of the former City Connects.
However, there is a lot of new stuff here. The jersey number is a new font, and there is another crown on the bottom left of the jersey. The heart on the left sleeve is also a new touch we haven't seen before. The most interesting part is the purple stripe—this would be the first time the Royals have ever worn that color. The purple would be a nod to the Kansas City flag.
We will know for sure by no later than April 10. That’s when the Royals have a City Connect flag giveaway and they are likely to wear their new uniforms on the field.
After the Pirates, Orioles, Padres, and Rangers leaks from a few days ago, these 2026 designs just keep coming out. I’ll save my opinions on these until the official unveiling... but the purple is definitely a new direction for KC.
More details soon.

The 2026 MLB season begins tomorrow night, and that means it’s time to break down everything that we will see on field this season. From alternates to City Connects, special events and everything in between. Note for more on all of these uniforms, click on the underlined link for my detailed breakdowns.
But before we get into individual team changes… I should note the most positive news of the offseason, the actual template and material changes. I dove real deep into all of that in this article. So be sure to check that out if you are interested. But now onto individual teams.
The Tampa Bay Rays are bringing back gray road uniforms as their primary road look for the first time since 2023. These uniforms are throwback inspired, featuring the full “Tampa Bay” wordmark on the chest in rainbow. And I should note they have not officially unveiled the uniform, but they put out a vote as I talked about in the article, and it won by a landslide.
The Detroit Tigers will wear two new alternates this season, the orange at home and navy on the road. The orange alternate will be worn at home on Fridays, while the navy will be worn for select road games. Both jerseys have already been worn in spring training.
The Athletics will debut Sacramento gold jerseys at home and on the road as an alternate. These uniforms are for the team’s temporary connection to Sacramento.
The Seattle Mariners will wear their new Steelheads Sunday uniforms at home on Sundays, inspired by the Negro Leagues. In addition, the Mariners will add a new anniversary patch to commemorate the franchise’s 50th season. Same goes for the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Miami Marlins are bringing back their teal throwback uniforms for home Sunday games. The design goes back to the team’s early color scheme as the Florida Marlins.
The Milwaukee Brewers will wear their new powder blue jersey with gray pants (unfortunately) as their primary road uniform this season, with the navy tops remaining as an alternate option.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are adding a new blue alternate jersey, which will be worn for select road games… we think. Yes, the Dodgers have yet to officially unveil it so we don’t know for sure. They will also wear their gold World Series uniforms for some games in 2026.
Around the league, seven teams are confirmed to be getting new City Connect uniforms in 2026 which I covered exclusively here.
All-Star Week takes place at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia from July 11–14. For the second straight season, players will wear their regular home and road uniforms in the All-Star Game, but special uniforms will be worn for the Home Run Derby, which are expected to lean into America’s 250th anniversary theme
The Field of Dreams Game returns on August 13 with the Minnesota Twins facing the Philadelphia Phillies. While many people don’t believe there will be special uniforms, especially considering #EndFanatics, the 4+1 rule, and all the other limitations, I have a feeling in the back of my head that we may see something unique. The Twins don’t carry a true throwback right now, and the Phillies powder blue wouldn’t fit the era we saw in the 2021 and 2022 Field of Dreams games. At the very least I think we will see a special hat.
The Little League Classic is scheduled for August 23 in Williamsport, PA, with the Atlanta Braves facing the Milwaukee Brewers. There will be no special uniforms for this game just like every season since 2022.
That is all you need to know for the 2026 MLB season, besides new City Connects which will come out throughout the next couple of months. We already have had three leaks. Just scroll down to see.
See you tomorrow morning for the 2026 MLB Style Standings!

Three more 2026 City Connect uniforms have surfaced today, with new looks from the Pittsburgh Pirates, Baltimore Orioles, and Texas Rangers now coming into focus. All three I confirmed to be getting new City Connects this season.
The Pirates design sticks heavily to their identity with a black jersey featuring a bold arched gold “PIRATES” script across the chest. Gold trim appears on the collar and sleeves, and inside the collar reads “WE BLEED BLACK AND GOLD.” The sleeve patch includes a new PGH pirate themed design with a pirate head.
The Orioles go in a completely different direction with a white jersey paired with black sleeves and strong orange accents throughout. “BMORE” is displayed across the chest in black with an orange outline, with a detailed oriole bird logo placed above. The sleeve patch leans into Baltimore culture with “FROM THE STOOP TO THE YARD,” the 410 area code, and Eutaw Street references, while the inside collar features a brick pattern from the warehouse in right field at Camden Yards. I believe above the jock tag is the clock tagt sits on top of the scoreboard.
The Rangers City Connect also surfaced, featuring a bright red jersey base with large “TEJAS” lettering across the chest in red with an off white outline. Tejas means Texas in Spanish. Off-white trim appears around the collar and sleeve cuffs, and the jock tag reads “Viva Tejas" meaning "Long Live Texas". There is some sort of sleeve patch we just can not see anything from these images. There is also some design on the sleeve cuff, just not sure about what it is yet.
After the San Diego Padres leak two days ago, these are now the next City Connect uniforms to surface, as more 2026 designs continue to leak ahead of official unveilings. I will save my opinions on all of these until official unveilings… but not liking some stuff I'm seeing especially with the Pirates.
Stay tuned for my 2026 MLB Season Uniform Preview at 8:00 PM ET!

A new leak has surfaced showing what appears to be an actual retail version of the upcoming San Diego Padres City Connect uniform. This comes after I previously covered the earlier Chinese retail site leak that had matched with the Dia de los Muertos theme.
The new image shows the jersey hanging in what appears to be a storage area possibly with a tag reading “Launch Product — Do Not Sell Until Launch Event Date: April 6th at 9:00AM.” The jersey features a dark navy base with “SAN DIEGO” written across the chest in the same font as their CC 1.0. They are keeping a similar color scheme with pink-orange shadow effect, along with matching trim on the sleeves.
The left sleeve also includes a skull style patch, tying the design to Día de los Muertos. The uniform is expected to be officially unveiled April 6 and make its on-field debut April 10 against the Colorado Rockies.
This is also the first City Connect leak of 2026. More soon details soon.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have officially unveiled their new World Series Gold Collection uniforms, confirmed the leak in MLB The Show. The special uniforms celebrate the teams back to back World Series championships in 2024 and 2025.
The jersey itself keeps the Dodgers traditional home white base, but adds gold accents throughout the design. The classic “Dodgers” script across the chest remains blue, now outlined in gold along with the numbers. I do like that the script is blue outlined in gold instead of the reverse last season. The jersey will also feature the World Series champions patch, although I do not fully understand the gray look of the patch with the rest of the gold theme.
The cap features the Dodgers traditional royal blue crown paired with a full gold brim. The front keeps the classic “LA” logo but in gold, while next to the logo are two gold stars to represent the team’s back to back World Series championships.
These will be worn to open the 2026 season against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Overall I don’t love them or hate them. Next is for the Dodgers to unveil their new blue alternate which is now retailing on the MLB Shop.

The San Francisco Giants have officially unveiled their new Gigantes alternate uniform, giving the team a bold new identity heading into the 2026 season. The Gigantes uniform was first worn on the field in 2005 and has served as a celebration of pride, culture, and community within the Giants Latino fanbase.
The new jersey features a black base with bright orange piping along the collar, sleeves, and placket. Across the chest is “GIGANTES” in a large arched script with a gray fill and orange outline. Surrounding the lettering is the key design element used throughout the uniform, a step fret design. The step fret is rooted in Latin American visual heritage and symbolizes movement and continuity, and it appears throughout the uniform.
That pattern appears in several places across the uniform. Player names and numbers on the back are orange and bordered by the same step fret design, while the trim details and graphic elements all tie back to it. The jersey also introduces a new Gigantes Shield patch on the sleeve, which the team describes as bringing together symbols of pride, identity, and the spirit of the Bay.
The uniform is paired with a new cap featuring a gray front panel and black crown with the “SF” logo infused with the same step fret design.
The uniform will debut Monday when the Giants face the Sultanes de Monterrey in an exhibition game at Oracle Park. Once the regular season begins, the Gigantes uniform will be worn at home on Saturdays as part of the team’s Fiesta Gigantes celebrations.

Sources have confirmed to me that seven teams are currently lined up to receive brand new City Connect uniforms for the 2026 season. While the full rollout for this season is not finalized yet, these teams are currently expected to make up the next wave of City Connect 2.0 releases as the program continues to cycle through its original designs.
The City Connect program was originally structured around roughly a three season window, meaning many of the uniforms released in 2022 and 2023 are now reaching the point where replacements would make sense. That timeline lines up with several teams preparing to move into new designs beginning in 2026.
According to my sources, the following teams are currently confirmed to be receiving new City Connect uniforms this season. The year listed in parentheses next to each team is the year they originally received their first City Connect uniform: the Atlanta Braves (2023), Milwaukee Brewers (2022), Baltimore Orioles (2023), San Diego Padres (2022), Pittsburgh Pirates (2023), Texas Rangers (2023), and the Cincinnati Reds (2023).
Of those teams, the Padres are the only one where we already have a strong idea of the direction the design may take. Back in November the team released a teaser video built around Día de los Muertos, strongly hinting at that theme for their upcoming City Connect 2.0 set. Since then, a possible hat and jersey design has also surfaced online, which I covered here that appears to match the theme and colors shown in that teaser.
It is important to note that these are only the confirmed teams at the moment, and there could very easily be more. A handful of the original 2022 City Connect uniforms have still not been refreshed yet, even though the program is supposed to operate on roughly a three season cycle. Because of that, it would not be surprising if additional teams are added to the 2026 rollout as plans continue to develop.

A few weeks ago I wrote about a possible new blue alternate for the Los Angeles Dodgers after it appeared on a retail listing from Fanatics Korea. At the time it was unclear if it was a real uniform or just a fashion jersey, but we now have a pretty strong confirmation thanks to MLB The Show 26.
The new blue alternate appears in the game and is shown paired with white pants. That does not necessarily mean it will be worn exclusively at home, but it does give us our first clear look at the full uniform. Shoutout to @young_stud_ on Twitter for hooking me up with the in-game pictures. This will be the first time the Dodgers have worn a true blue alternate since the 1999 season.
I’m not the biggest fan of this jersey and I think it could have been much better. The red front number now has a gray outline, and when the jersey is shown with white pants that detail doesn’t really work very well visually. The rest of the Dodgers’ uniforms keep things extremely clean, which is part of what makes their set so strong, so this ends up feeling a bit out of place. I would have much preferred if the team simply turned last year’s blue spring training jersey with the white piping into a full time alternate.
There is another interesting detail from MLB The Show as well. The game still shows the Dodgers with two road gray jerseys, but the “Los Angeles” script road gray is being dropped. With MLB teams now working within the Nike 4+1 uniform structure, something had to go to make room for this new alternate. Spring training jerseys do count toward the four core uniforms, which means the Dodgers needed to clear space somewhere if this new blue jersey is officially part of the rotation.
This comes after earlier today I reported on Twitter that their gold WS uniforms leaked in the game as well. I'll have more on those once they are officially unveiled, seemingly at the same time this new alternate is released.

In an era where NBA head coaches are on the sidelines in team branded gear and NFL coaches look like walking billboards for team gear, the sight of a 50 year old MLB manager standing on the dugout steps in a button down jersey and baseball pants feels a little funny. Yet, here we are in 2026, and the manager in a uniform look remains one of the most common things in baseball.
So, why do they still do it?
To understand the uniform, you have to look at the 19th century. Back then, the Manager was a business role, the person responsible for travel, bookings, and logistics. The person actually calling the shots on the field was the Captain.
Because those early captains were almost always players, they wore the uniform because they were playing. As teams grew, the roles merged into the modern Manager. But even as the job changed from playing to just making decisions, the clothes stayed. It was not a choice. It was just how things were done.
Baseball is different because of how it views the manager’s role. In the NBA and NFL, coaches are seen as staff members, so they wear branded gear to keep things simple. In the NHL, they wear suits to keep a formal look. While those sports moved toward staff gear or suits, baseball kept the idea that the manager is part of the team.
There is a common thought that the MLB rulebook says a manager must wear a uniform. That is not actually true. However, there is a big helpful reason to do it.
The rulebook limits the dugout to players, substitutes, and other team members in uniform. By wearing the gear, managers make sure they have the right to be in the dugout during the game. In the past, managers who chose to wear suits, like Connie Mack, faced a problem. They could not step onto the field. If they wanted to visit the mound or argue a call with an umpire, they had to send a coach in uniform to do it for them.
We have seen people try to change this. Connie Mack and Burt Shotton are the most famous examples of managers who wore suits well into the 20th century. And, of course, Pete Rose who was the last true player manager, ending the time when the manager was literally on the active roster.
Today, we see a new approach. Many managers are wearing a mix, wearing a team branded jersey, hoodie, or polo with baseball pants. It is a good mix that lets you knows they are not running the bases anymore while still respecting the dugout look.
At the end of the day, the uniform stays because it works. It removes the gap between a true boss and a player. It signals that the manager is in the games right alongside the team. In a game where everyone on the field is a player, the uniform makes it clear who belongs on the grass and who represents the club.

The Tampa Bay Rays are bringing back gray road jerseys for the first time since 2023, restoring a traditional element of their uniform set that had been absent over the past two seasons.
The team moved away from gray after the 2023 season because of the 4+1 rule, which forced them to be selective with their uniforms. Tampa Bay prioritized other looks in that rotation, including their navy road jerseys and Columbia blue alternates, leaving the gray design without a spot. Before that change, gray had been a regular part of the Rays’ identity since the franchise’s 2008 rebrand. Those road uniforms featured the “Rays” script across the chest in navy and served as the club’s primary road look for more than a decade.
The history of gray road jerseys in Tampa Bay goes back even further. During the early years of the franchise as the Tampa Bay Devil Rays from 1998 through 2007, the team wore gray uniforms with “Tampa Bay” across the chest. Those designs evolved over time, first appearing with the original multicolor gradient style before shifting to a darker green and black wordmark in the early 2000s.
The Rays are now giving fans four options for the gray road look:
One option features “TAMPA BAY” in a rainbow gradient outlined in white, paired with the team’s current Devil Rays hat.
Another option uses the same rainbow-gradient jersey but with the logo from their City Connect hat and a navy base.
A third option has a light blue script outlined in white, paired with a light blue “TB” outlined in white on the cap, with the ray swimming below.
The fourth option features a navy script outlined in white, worn with the same hat as option three.
I cast my vote for option one and am excited to see which design the team ultimately chooses. With the Rays wearing light blue tops this spring, I’m expecting the navy road jerseys to be dropped from the rotation.

As I covered a few weeks ago, the Giants teased the return of their “Gigantes” uniform, and now leaked images circulating on Reddit show the new design for 2026. The Giants have worn “Gigantes” jerseys, the Spanish word for “Giants,” during their annual Fiesta Gigantes events since 2005. These jerseys celebrate Hispanic and Latino heritage in baseball and the San Francisco community, typically appearing once or a few times per season with special scripts and hats for the occasion.
Images from the MLB Press Box site reveal a brand-new iteration featuring an arched, orange-outlined “Gigantes” logo with Greek key motifs, a nod to Ancient Greek patterns and the mythological giants of lore. The script also reminds me of what the team used to wear from 1983-1994. A possible cap logo was also shown, that appears to be on a gray base similar to the script background and numbers. Unlike past seasons, the “Gigantes” jerseys were not worn in 2024 and 2025 due to the 4+1 uniform rule, but this year the team appears to be retiring the last black alternate to fully adopt the new design. This move follows the orange alternate being shifted into the Spring Training rotation, clearing the way for the black “Gigantes” to carry the Fiesta Gigantes identity. The uniform is expected to debut on March 23, in an exhibition game with Sultanes de Monterrey. And then as part of every Saturday home game going forward.

Baseballs biggest worldwide event is here. And of course with twenty different countries, comes many different designs and colors... well more so colors.
Nike has standardized all of the designs, so all that changes with countries is just colors and logos. I am sure we can find something good... right? Let's break down each uniform pool by pool.
One thing to note before we get started is that nineteen of the twenty countries use Nike, while Japan uses Mizuno who has been their partner for over a century.
Their home white jersey features red piping and "CANADA" across the chest which are white outlined in red, which smaller red letter designs inside. Their road/alternate jersey features a red base with half white, and half gray side panels, which every teams alternate jersey features. There is white sleeve piping and double white piping around the collar, one again a design that every team has. On the very end of the sleeves on all of the countries uniforms have a a strip of white which just makes no sense. Both of their jerseys have the flag on the sleeve. Canada's hat is all red with a black "C" sitting on a maple leaf. Every cap also has the country flag on the side of the hat. Not a huge fan of their hat, white would of been better than black.
These uniforms are pretty ugly in my opinion. The home white features "COLOMBIA" across the chest in blue. The font is pretty disgusting. Add yellow piping on the chest and sleeve and this one is a disaster. The alternate is a bit better with a blue base but the same font in yellow. The piping is yellow and the side panels are yellow and white. The cap is yellow to make the situation even worse with a blue bill and... a red "C". Why not red anywhere else in the uniforms? I am not ready to see the yellow cap with the home whites.
Home white features red piping and Cuba across the chest in red outlined in blue. The alternate is red with cuba across the chest in white outlined in blue, with white sleeve and collar piping and white and gray side panels. I like their cap, blue with the red brim and a red "C" with the white star from the flag.
Their home white jersey has navypiping, and "PANAMA" in a block white font outlined in navyacross the chest. The alternate is red with the same script across the front, navy piping and white and navy side panels. Their cap is navy with a block red "P".
Home white has red piping and "PUERTO RICO" stacke on top of each otehr in red. The alternate is blue with the same script, red piping and white and red side panels. I also really like this hat, a blue base with a red brim, and "PR" in white.
Their home white has blue piping and "BRAZIL" across the chest in a very simple font. They use their yellow and blue mroe effectivly than Colombia. Their alternate is blue with "BRASIL" in yellow outlined in white. The piping is yellow and the side panels are white and yellow. The cap is really sweet to which is blue with "B" in yellow.
Wow what an upgrade to that 2023 disaster. Their new home white has red piping with "GREAT BRITAIN" stacked on top of each other in blue. Their alternate is red with white script and blue piping. The side panels are white and blue. This is what bugs me: a navy cap. Navy is no where to be found in their flag, or jerseys. What are we doing?
Home white features blue piping, and "ITALIA" in blue across the chest. The alternate is blue with the same script, and navy piping and white and navy side panels. Of course the two different color blues bug me. The cap is the most simple of any cap in the WBC. Blue with a white "I".
Nike really ruined my favorite jerseys from the last WBC. The home white has red piping with "MEXICO" across the chest in green. In 2023 Mexico had a red alternate with green script which was magnificent. Now its green with white white text and red sleeve piping. The side panels are white and red. The cap is green white a red brim and the "M" in white outlined in red.
Team USA jerseys remain iconic. Navy piping on the home whites with "USA" across the chest, the 'S" being red and white striped. The navy alternate also has "USA" across the chest with red piping. The side panels are white and red. The cap is navy with a red brim and "US" in white on top of a star.
Their home white has green piping with Australia across the chest in green outlined in yellow. I don't like how the script is so small. The alternate is green with the same script in white across the chest with yellow piping. The side panels are white and yellow. The cap is green with "A" in white with yellow stars around it.
Home white has blue piping with "CT" in red and blue in the upper right hand corner of the jersey. "CHINESE TAIPEI" is blue in small letters underneath the logo. The alternate is blue with the same logo, red piping and red and white side panels. The cap is blue with the "CT" logo.
Their home white has navy piping with "CESKO" across the chest. The alternate is navy with the same script and red piping with red and white sleeve panels just like the U.S. The cap is black or just a very dark navy with "CR" in the design of a home plate in red.
I mean look what you can do when you are not under Nike. With Mizuno, Japan's home white features navy pinstripes, with "JAPAN" across the front in navy outlined in gold. The alternate is navy with "JAPAN" in red and gold sleeve piping. The cap is navy with a red "J" outlined in gold.
The home white has navy piping with "KOREA" in navy across the chest outlined in red. The alternate is navy with the same script in white and red piping. The side panels are red and white. The hat is navy with a "K" in white.
The home white has red piping and "DOMINICANA" in blue outlined in red on the chest with "REPUBLICA" in small blue text above it. The alternate is blue with the same script in white and red piping. The side panels are red and white. This cap is solid with a red base and and a blue brim. "DR" is in blue and white on the cap.
Home white has blue piping with "ISRAEL" in blue across the front. The alternate is blue with the same script. The piping is white and the side panels are white and gray. The cap is blue with a white outlined Star of David.
Their home white has blue piping with "NETHERLANDS" across the chest in blue, and "KINGDOM OF THE" in small blue text above. A blue crown splits the top small text. The alternate is navy with the same script in red outlined in white. The sleeve piping is red with white and red side panels. The cap is black or a dark navy with a red crown.
The home white has blue piping and "NICARAGUA" across the chest in blue. The alternate is blue with the same script in white and white piping. The side panels are white and gray.
The home white has blue piping and "Venezuela" across the chest in blue outlined in yellow and blue. The alternate is blue with the same script in white and white piping. The side panels are white and gray. And probably my favorite cap which is blue with a white "V" outlined in yellow.
And with that, those are all forty jerseys across the twenty teams we will see in the WBC. Can't wait for the games to begin.

After weeks of leaks and rumors, the new alternates are finally here. The Detroit Tigers officially unveiled their new orange and navy uniforms at spring training with a dramatic video featuring drums and a full buildup that really fit the moment. I covered the leaks a couple of weeks ago when the orange jersey first showed up in the MLB The Show trailer and then both jerseys appeared online shortly after, but now they’re officially here and I love them. After not having a true alternate since 1995, this is a huge shift, giving the Tigers a five jersey rotation alongside their home and road sets and City Connect.
The orange alternate is a new home look built around a bright orange jersey with the navy Old English “D” outlined in white on the chest. The sleeves and collar feature striped trim, and the sleeve patch shows the tiger going through the “D”. It’s paired with white pants with navy/orange/navy piping and a navy cap with an orange “D” and orange brim. This one will be worn for Friday home games and is easily the boldest look the Tigers have added in decades.
The navy alternate serves as the road version, featuring the scripted Detroit across the chest in orange with white and navy outlines. Like the orange jersey, it includes the striped sleeve trim and the tiger through the “D” sleeve patch. This set is paired with gray pants with orange/navy/orange piping and the same navy cap with the orange “D” and orange brim, and it’ll be worn for select road games.
One detail that might fly under the radar is that these alternates are being worn during spring training. It’s unclear whether these will be the only two alternates seen in spring games, since the team has also been practicing in home whites, possibly holding back these new sets for later. There’s also the possibility that the Tigers could rotate all four core uniforms in spring training—a league-wide first—which makes this period especially interesting to watch.
These uniforms were developed over a long process with input from players and fans, and they’ll be worn right away during spring training. What started as a small leak has turned into one of the biggest uniform changes the Tigers have made in a long time, and it’s a great mix of classic elements and new color for a team that’s stayed traditional for years.

If you have not read my article yet on all of the 2026 uniform changes, scroll down and read that first. We have already seen many of those changes as Spring Training has heated up under the desert and Florida sun. Games start Friday, but right now let’s dig into what we have seen so far.
In 2024, the Phillies were “forced” to remove their iconic chain stitching from their uniforms, while the Cardinals kept theirs. Now, the chain stitching is officially back for Philadelphia. If you didn’t know, chain stitching is a vintage-inspired embroidery technique where thread forms a series of looped chain patterns, giving lettering and logos more depth and texture.
The Marlins are wearing their light blue tops for Spring Training as they have in recent years, but the significance this time is bigger. After unveiling their teal throwback last week, they would need to drop a jersey under the 4 + 1 structure. That tells us either the road gray or the black alternate is on the way out.
The Brewers are wearing their new powder blue alternate during Spring Training. After dropping their road gray, it will be interesting to see how they manage their rotation this season, especially on the road. We have already seen the powder blue paired with gray pants, and the look is… an adjustment.
The Dodgers are wearing their blue alternate this spring as usual, but with a noticeable tweak: the white piping has been removed and the sleeve logo has been added. Without the piping, it gives major 2021 City Connect 1.0 vibes. I am expecting more Dodgers news in the coming weeks — refer to my most recent article.
The Giants are wearing their orange alternate for Spring Training. As I covered a few articles back, they are unveiling a new Gigantes alternate soon. That means the regular black alternate is likely being dropped, making room for the new Gigantes text on black — a jersey they would not be wearing in Spring Training.
The Twins debuted their refreshed navy alternate with “TWINS” across the chest. They will wear it throughout Spring Training with both their road pinstripe pants and home white pants.
The Tigers are sticking with their home whites and road grays this spring as they prepare to unveil two all-new alternate uniforms for 2026 — ones they recently teased and I broke down a few articles ago.
Next up: games start Friday.

A strange Dodgers development slipped through during all the Tigers chaos yesterday. A possible blue alternate surfaced on Fanatics Korea titled “Nike LA Dodgers Alt Stadium Jersey.” At first I thought that could just indicate a fashion release, especially never hearing "Stadium" in any jersey title. However when I looked closer, every other Dodgers jersey listed on that site also includes “stadium” in the name, so that may simply be how Korea labels its jerseys.
The only Dodgers spring training glimpse we’ve seen so far with any type of jersey, was a small portion of a blue jersey with the ad patch visible, and it did not appear to have the usual white piping found on the Dodger's standard blue spring tops. If tomorrow the Dodgers take the practice fields today in home whites instead of their regular blue tops, that would strongly suggest this new alternate is legitimate, especially since their current four core slots are filled and a blue for blue swap would make sense structurally.

A couple weeks ago, the MLB The Show trailer quietly leaked what appeared to be an orange Tigers alternate. Late last night, things escalated. Two youth sized jerseys popped up on MLB Shop, one matching the exact orange uniform shown in the trailer labeled “Alternate 2,” and the other listed as a “black” alternate. If that holds, it would mark the first time Detroit has worn “black” outside of their 2024 City Connect. Even more notable, the Tigers have not had a true alternate in regular rotation since 1995, when their navy alternate was barely worn.
So why does this suddenly feel real? While preparing my 2026 Spring Training: First Looks article, I was combing through new images and noticed Casey Mize in the standard home uniform, with no sign of the two navy spring training exclusives the Tigers had been using in recent years, one with the white logo and one with orange. Their absence strongly suggests those have been dropped to make room for a 4+1 setup, something I never thought I would say about the Tigers. That clears space for both the orange and “black” alternates to enter the mix. There is still a lot to unpack, whether these are considered throwbacks, how often they will be worn, and if either travels on the road, but if this is indeed the new direction, this is easily some of the biggest uniform news of the season.
These two jerseys have since been removed from the MLB Shop.
UPDATE: The Tigers have released a teaser. It confirms that the first alternate is not black, its navy.

A few months back, the Giants teased the return of the “Gigantes” uniform, and now the news comes together with today’s spring training announcement. The Giants will move the orange alternate (previously worn on Friday home games) into Spring status. They will most likely still wear them during the regular season though.
Now the team will officially debut the new “Gigantes” jersey during exhibition games against the Sultanes de Monterrey, a long-standing Mexican League club, as part of the team’s celebration of the Latino community. The “Gigantes” alternate first appeared in 2005 and was worn consistently until 2021, when it was retired with the introduction of their City Connect 1.0. I believe this new version will feature a black base for two reasons: the original “Gigantes” uniform was black, and it allows the orange alternate to move into spring training rotation, since the black alt will now carry the “Gigantes” identity. The jersey will also be worn during Saturday home games as part of “Fiesta Gigantes”, tying the uniform back to the celebration of Latino culture that has shaped Giants baseball.

After weeks of teasing, the Marlins have officially unveiled their new teal throwback at FanFest, and it is exactly what fans were hoping for. The slow rollout began earlier this offseason, but now we finally have the full picture, marking a return to a look Miami last wore as an alternate in 1995. The jersey brings back the teal color from the Florida Marlins era, paired with the classic script wordmark in black outlined in white. The sleeves feature black and white piping along with a circular shoulder patch reading “Florida Marlins,” showing a baseball with the marlin cutting through it. Both the cap and helmet are all black with the classic Marlins logo, and the pants are white with teal pinstripes. These uniforms will be worn on Sunday home games, and the only remaining question is which jersey gets dropped from the rotation. Gray, blue, or black all feel possible, though if blue is the one to go, it is hard to imagine the Marlins sticking with black tops during spring training in the Florida heat.

San Diego’s next City Connect might finally be coming into focus. I touched on this a few weeks ago when the Padres quietly teased their next City Connect back in November on Día de los Muertos, but now a new leak has added real context to that original hint. A possible Padres City Connect 2.0 uniform has surfaced via a Chinese retail site (https://bigfirefashion.com/products/2026-san-diego-padres-city-connect-hat?_pos=2&_sid=46c66bd79&_ss=r), and while neither the jersey nor the cap shown feature official Nike or New Era branding for obvious reasons, the similarities in colors, layout, and overall direction are hard to ignore.
The cap is the biggest giveaway, as it closely matches the one shown in the Padres teaser and appears to be the actual on field hat. The navy brim paired with orange-accented interlocking SD feels like a nod back to the 1990s, which is an interesting contrast with the Día de los Muertos theme that was teased. The jersey continues that direction with a white base, navy and orange detailing, traditional striping, and even a monarch butterfly which is a symbol of the holiday. This is a clear step away from the pink and mint City Connect look that was retired after the 2025 season. One of the better City Connects we have seen, for sure.

A possible Tigers alternate jersey appeared briefly in the MLB The Show 26 trailer, and it looks like more than just an in game concept. The uniform shown includes both a Nike logo and the Tigers uniform ad, which matters because those details are not added to older uniforms in the game, making this feel much closer to something that could actually be worn on the field.
The jersey features orange prominently, a color Detroit has historically kept as an accent rather than a primary jersey color, making this a rare direction for one of baseball’s most traditional franchises. The pants include piping that matches what the Tigers used to wear, giving the uniform a familiar, classic feel while still introducing a bold new color. Interesting...

The Mariners gave fans something new uniform wise at FanFest, announcing that a Seattle Steelheads uniform will be added to the rotation starting in 2026. The look pays tribute to the Seattle Steelheads of the West Coast Negro Baseball League, a team that played in 1946, and it will be worn for Sunday home games at T-Mobile Park. While this was not a full uniform reveal just yet, the intent was clear that this is more than a one-off or occasional throwback and will replace the long-running Sunday cream alternates.
This is a meaningful addition for Seattle, both visually and historically. The Steelheads design has appeared before in limited use and has always stood out for its boldness. The organization also tied the uniform to broader community efforts supporting Black-led baseball and softball programs, which adds purpose behind the look. The next uniform expected be revealed at a FanFest is the Marlins teal throwback.

The 2026 MLB season is officially the year order is restored to the diamond. After the 2024 "Vapor Premier" rollout felt more like a minor league experiment, the league-wide "Great Correction" is finally complete. While the road grays were fixed last season, 2026 marks the return of premium standards for all home white and alternate jerseys.
We’ve already seen these changes in the wild. If you’ve watched any of the recent press conferences for new free agent signings or checked the latest online, the difference is night and day.
The thin, "papery" fabric that plagued the last two years is gone. All jerseys have reverted to the 2023 heavier material (the thicker weave originally used by Majestic). This means better durability and a return to the moisture-management properties that actually prevent the "sweat-stain" look on TV.
The shrunken, tiny names on the back (NOB) that looked like knockoffs are now history. The 2026 jerseys feature the restored large-scale lettering, giving the players back their professional presence.
We are finally moving away from flat, heat-pressed plastic. Sleeve patches are returning to a full embroidered finish, adding texture and a premium feel that was very much missed.
The MLB logo on the back collar, which was lowered in 2024, is moving back up to its traditional spot above the piping, fixing the visual balance of the upper back.
The "see-through" pants have been addressed with a thicker weave, and players once again have access to full tailoring and the high-quality zippers they used in 2023.
As pitchers and catchers report in the next two to three weeks, the real scouting begins. I’ll be diving deep into the specific uniform tweaks for every team, from the subtle script adjustments to the brand-new alternate jerseys surfacing across the league.
Stay tuned for my 2026 Spring Training Hat Review, which should be dropping any day now as the official New Era collections come out (one of which I have covered in the article below). Whether it's the cactus on the Arizona caps... or the grapefruit themes in Florida, I’ll break down which ones are good.
Most importantly, I’m getting back on the grind with Braves Gameday Banners. This year, I’m starting early! From the first pitch of Spring Training, I’ll be tracking every jersey and cap combo the Braves rock.
Baseball is almost back, and it’s finally going to LOOK like baseball again.

A possible Cubs Spring Training hat may have leaked on the MILB Shop. I have been searching for leaks before the full 30 cap real any day from now. It appears to have a Saguaro and Prickly Pear Cactus to the right of the "C". I am assuming that for the Grapefruit League there will just be a grapefruit instead. Just from the looks of this, I am not a fan.
UPDATE: This image looks to be from the MLB Style Guide making them even more official.

The Padres quietly teased their next City Connect chapter back in November, and it’s something I never got around to covering at the time. On Día de los Muertos, San Diego released a short video built around traditional Day of the Dead elements, featuring candles, decorative details, and a Padres cap that appears to be the actual on field hat for City Connect 2.0. The cap immediately stood out, looking like a nod back to the 1990s with navy and orange in the mix, which is an interesting direction given the theme being teased. No uniforms were shown and no colors were officially revealed, but the overall tone points toward a Día de los Muertos inspired concept rather than anything resembling the pink and mint City Connect look that was retired after the 2025 season.
What makes this teaser especially intriguing is how those elements might come together. A return to navy and orange feels very traditional Padres, but how that palette ties into Día de los Muertos remains the big question. City Connect uniforms are at their best when they tell a specific story. For now, this feels like a thoughtful reset, and one that could land really well if it all comes together the right way.

The Marlins might finally be listening. The team recently teased a new “Sunday Alt” uniform for 2026, and all signs point toward a teal throwback making its long-awaited return. The teaser highlighted February 7th and March 29th, lining up with FanFest and what appears to be an early Sunday home game, but the real giveaway was the heavy use of teal and references to the old “Teal Monster” scoreboard at Joe Robbie Stadium. Nothing has been officially revealed yet, but this feels intentional, especially after years of being pushed to the sidelines since the original Florida Marlins days of bold teal pinstripes in the 90s and early 2000s, making this easily the most exciting uniform news Miami’s had in a long time and something fans have been begging for.
The jersey was actually leaked earlier this month here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DTA61JFjuhJ/ in a video by the NHL about the Winter Classic in Miami. Now what pants and hat will this be worn with? We will know in less than a month, and I can’t wait.

Welcome to the finale of my 2026 Uniform Wishes. Lets finish this up.
Nothing much I would change with the Orioles. Love their orange pants they brough back last season.
I like how they are wearing their red alt on the road sicne they dropped the navy. Nothing I would change. Top tier City Connect.
Well. I mean...
I have never been a fan of these. We need the Devil Rays back. This Baby Blue alt with the yellow whatever like shock thing is disgusting especially when worn on the road with gray pants. Part of the reason the Brewers new Powder alt is not what it could be.
One of the most underrated sets in the league. White faced cap they brought back sets the tone.
I mean its just basic. But I would love for them to bring back the throwback.
Fresh off an alternate refresh would love to see some uniformity between the white, gray, and red at least.
I would love the Tigers to have an alternate. Like maybe even their navy tops they used to wear.
Pretty solid but would love for them to just wear their regular Royal Blue cap with their powder look. Needs to look like the 80s.
Mixed the classic and the modern when they refreshed a couple seasons ago. Love all four of their primary, hate their City Connect.
Not really anything I would change here.
Bring back the throwback!
Some of the best uniforms in the league.
Nothing to wish for here.
Nothing here either.
That will do it for my 2026 Uniform Wishes. See you in 352 days.

Welcome to the baseball section. Haven't been here in a while but time to transition from football to baseball in part three. Be sure to read parts one and two over there first. Lets get started.
Already so much improvement last season, and especially going into this upcoming season. They fixed the navy color last season on the road alternate/spring top. However one other piece is missing from that 2023 navy jersey. The light gray piping.
Marlins... well I haven't liked any of the Marlins uniform since 2003. In fact their original uniforms when the team was created in 1993 were the best. I basically just want those, these current ones are pretty bad. They brought back a throwback a couple of years ago but that was about it.
Bring back the previous black alternate with the light gray shadow. Far better than their current black alt and it doesn't throwback as well to 1998-2012. Then the blue top they changed last year is a pullover. Love the script, need to fill it in with that light gray they wore on their blue alternates a few years ago. Wow, light gray really does a lot for a uniform.
Bring back the chain stitching Nike! Other than that they remain the best uniforms in baseball... not including the City Connect.
Well they dropped that pullover last season, that was step one. Next they just need to bring back the old script to the road jersey because the block letters are horrific! One of my favorite City Connects though. In fact both iterations of it.
Nothing really to critique here. Classic.
I would love to see that baseball logo red alternate come back, but other than solid.
All I say is swap the home primary and alternate. I love the pinstripes. Remember a few weeks ago they dropped the gray road look and will wear powder and navy on the road. I just want powder pants with it!
I say make the navy cap the primary road look, and that's really it.
They looked like a football team at times last season wearing their City Connect black pants, with their black alt, mixing in their BP cap. Non of it looked good, that's certain. Unfortunately the black jersey with the "P" is only in spring training status. I am hoping that when they get a new City Connect that they bring in a yellow throwback. One of my favorite all time uniforms.
Don't have any wishes here. City Connect is definitely the highlight.
I would like to see the black jersey come back, but other than that no changes really. Their City Connect is sharp as well.
Well of course I would love to see the BP/Spring top come to the regular season as an alternate. But, the Dodgers look is classic. I do want to see the road gray "Los Angeles" script jersey wit hthe blue sleeve piping worn more.
Love everything they got. The brown and gold is wonderful. Plus add the camo top in there which I really like. Not to mention their vibrant City Connect jersey which was retired last season.
Nothing here, but would love to see the black top on the road more. Also a great City Connect.
That will do it for part three. Ill catch you back here soon for part four in the AL.

The Brewers have announced an all new powder blue alternate jersey which from what it seems will be worn on the road with their gray pants (unfortunately). The jersey is essentially a color swap of their current navy alternate. Because of the 4+1 rule, they would have to drop a jersey. However, according to Brewers officials this will replace the road grays, a uniform that is slowly fading out around the league.
Now onto the details. The powder blue jersey, specifically #002066, as I said is basically a color swap of its counterpart on the road. The jersey reads Milwaukee across the chest in navy outlined in yellow. The same Wisconsin logo is featured on the sleeve. There is no chest piping but the sleeve cuff features navy/yellow/navy piping. It will be worn with the yellow faced cap just like the navy jersey. Overall, really bummed we are not seeing this with matching pants, at least for now. The Orioles of course added orange pants into the mix last year and same did the Royals with powder blue. I wonder which of these road uniforms will serve as the "primary" because one had to. They could play it by feel against whatever the opponent wears. I am glad these are worn on the road, how they are supposed to like the 80s.

The Braves, Orioles, Reds, Pirates, Mariners, and Rangers all got their first City Connect uniforms in 2023. This coming season, they would be due for their second. However, only a few teams that got them in 2022 got their second last season. From the batch of the original 2021 set, only one team, the Dodgers, got their second in 2024. So who really knows. The confirmed teams getting their second this coming season are the Padres, Rangers, and Royal.
We will most likely start to see these leak around Spring Training time, and be unveiled around the beginning of the season. Stay tuned.
