2026 MLB Style Standings OUT NOW, 2026 NFL Style Standings will release on Friday, August 28th, and 2026 B1G and SEC Style Standings will release on Saturday, August 29th.
Welcome back to the annual MLB Style Standings. Every year I reassess each team’s wardrobe, focusing strictly on the core four uniforms. City Connects don’t factor in, just like last year. I compare each team to last season, note what has grown on me, and see how the rotation comes together overall. Some teams move a lot, some barely anything, or even move back.
When making these standings for 2026, I really looked at the changes teams made over the past year and how the primaries and alternates complement each other. Alternates can boost a wardrobe if they’re strong, but the primaries remain the main driver.
Some teams made big leaps thanks to thoughtful alternates that I actually really liked. Others moved down because nothing really grew on me, or their rotation still feels disconnected. Now I’m going to go into some of the highlights from this years standings.
The Marlins moved up four spots this season. The teal throwback instantly elevated the Marlins wardrobe. It actually gives the rotation some life. Whether the gray or black jerseys get rotated out remains unclear, but this addition alone justifies a move up.
Detroit is one of the biggest jumps this season. SEVENTEEN SPOTS. Their new orange and navy alternates give them a true five-uniform rotation that finally feels complete. The primaries have always been solid, but the alternates are the star here. The orange home is bold without being too much. The navy road alternate complements the gray top well too. This is how you do alternates. Keeping the same design as your primaries. But changing up the colors.
The Phillies maintain the top spot in 2026. Their core rotation remains unmatched. Red pinstripes, road grays, creams, and powder blues. Every uniform has its purpose and complements the others without overcomplicating anything.
At the end of the day, these standings aren’t just numbers. They show how each team’s rotation comes together, what’s grown on me over the year, and what still feels off. Some teams surprised me, some disappointed, and a few stayed exactly where I expected. The core four uniforms always tell the story: primaries set the foundation, alternates add flavor, and throwbacks remind us why history still matters.
It’s been a long season of looking, comparing, and thinking about every detail, and while opinions will always be different, this is where I landed for 2026. Next year I’ll be back doing it all over again. Seeing what hits, what misses, and what finally earns its place at the top.
