ABOUT UMSCAS
WHO WE ARE
We are the UM Sociology & Criminology Association of Students (UMSCAS), the official undergraduate association for students in the sociology and criminology department at the University of Manitoba. Our purpose is to create cohesivity between students within the department, and support students academically and socially.
WHAT WE DO
We are committed to supporting students within the UM Sociology & Criminology Association of Students (UMSCAS) by offering programs and opportunities such as:
Peer Mentoring Program: Our peer mentoring program connects upper-year students with newer students to provide guidance, academic support, and a welcoming environment within the department.
Events: We are actively planning a variety of events throughout the 2025-26 academic year. These events are designed to bring together Sociology and Criminology students outside of the classroom, encouraging collaboration, networking, and a strong sense of community within the department.
UMSCAS Merch: We proudly offer UMSCAS hoodies, a great way for students to rep their major!
