Who We Are
The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) was established in 1908. AIChE is a global organization for chemical engineering professionals with over 50,000 members in 100 countries. The UMass Amherst chapter is a division of this prestigious organization with over 300 members. Our vision is to provide valuable experiences and support to our students pursuing a chemical engineering degree. We are committed to creating an environment in which all students feel welcomed and respected.
Mission
To advance chemical engineering through theory and practice, to maintain a high professional standard, and to serve society as chemical engineers. We are committed to the professional development of our members and to enhancing their college experience.
Goals
Create lasting memories and fun experiences for all UMass Amherst ChemEs. Provide opportunities to learn and meet new people in their field of interest. Facilitate involvement of faculty members and students in the program. We aim to provide resources to help members learn effectively, work hard, and make a positive societal difference.
