AIChE UMass Amherst Student Chapter President

Hi Everyone!! My name is Ashlyn and I'm so excited to be the President for this year's AIChE Umass Student Chapter!! I'm so grateful for this, as we have so many fun events planned for this fall semester that I hope everyone will enjoy. As a whole board, one of our biggest goals this year is to create a big sense of community with the ChemE undergrads, grad students and faculty, as well as creating a judgment-free, inclusive environment for all of the ChemE department!

Haeun Lee

Hello! My name is Haeun and I am a senior ChemE! During both the school year and the summer, I work as an intern at UMass’s Electron Microscopy Core Facility, where I conduct research and observe the world at the nanoscale! I am passionate about sustainability and am interested in materials science, catalysis, and electrochemistry. Outside of chemical engineering, I love exploring towns and cities, reading, watching movies, and crafting! Super excited for all the events AIChE has planned this year:)

Manu Menezes

Hey! I'm Manu, and I'm the AIChE Treasurer! I'm a senior chemE with a concentration in biochemical engineering and a minor in engineering management. For the last 2 summers I have been a manufacturing intern at Pfizer. Outside of Cheme, I'm also involved with Theta Tau, ISPE, and SWE. I love to try new restaurants, explore, and stay active.

Anya Kuznetsov

Hi, I'm Anya! I am a senior in ChemE with a Spanish minor. In addition to being on AIChE's e-board, I also volunteer with the Alpha Phi Omega community service fraternity, work at Roots Cafe, and I am doing research in the Zagalskaya lab. I love traveling (I've studied abroad twice in Spain and Germany), running, and reading. My interests include catalysis, computational chemistry, and materials science. I look forward to seeing what AIChE can accomplish this year!

Hi! My name Sophia and I’m a sophomore ChemE! This is my second year on the e-board, and I’m so excited to continue working on social media! I’m interested in materials science, polymers, and biomaterials. Outside of ChemE, I love to watercolor, travel, and spend time outdoors!

Hi! My name is Vera and I’m a sophomore ChemE from the Boston area. I’m excited to be this year’s Webmaster, where I manage our website (bookmark it to stay updated on events and opportunities!!). Outside of AIChE, I do research in the Morris Lab and I enjoy playing the violin, fencing, and photography. Feel free to reach out if you have questions or just want to say hi!

Autumn Voyer

Budget Chair

Hi! My name is Autumn and I am a senior studying biochemical engineering. This is my first year on the E-Board, and I am so excited to be this year’s budget chair! I am interested in sustainability, food science, water treatment, and biomaterials, and my research involves developing kombucha-derived cellulosic materials for water remediation. This summer, I had the opportunity to intern at Physical Sciences Inc. doing contract-based materials R&D! Outside of classes, I love baking, reading, going to concerts, and color guard!

Hey! I’m Madina! I am a senior in ChemE here at UMass. I am on the Chem-E-Car team and have done research on bumblebees. In my free time I like to play guitar and paint.

I'm Bella, a sophomore in Chemical Engineering. Outside of ChemE, I love travelling, baking, and playing instruments. I have a big love for creative hobbies as well, which is why I ran for Social Media Chair! Currently, I'm interested in Polymer Science and Sustainable Engineering and would love to connect with other ChemEs who share the same interests!

Hello! I'm Hagen, and I'm a junior studying Chemical Engineering with a focus on materials science, especially on how it relates to national security. I currently work in a polymer lab, and also as an engineer at an advanced materials startup. I'm very passionate about the intersection of chemical engineering, national security, and strategic capital while maintaining eco-friendly, dual-use sustainable technologies. Outside of Chem E, I enjoy writing, composing music, and multimedia arts. I'm excited to continue working with AIChE!

River Scoggins

Community, Engagement, and Belonging Chair

Hey there! I'm River, and I'm a senior studying Chemical Engineering. I'm excited to be serving another year as CEB chair and hope to create more opportunities to bring the community together, including our new microgrant program, which gives students funding to pitch their ideas for department-wide events. I am especially interested in green and life science-based chemical engineering. Outside of academics, I work for the Office of Admissions, giving campus tours and info sessions. I enjoy playing intramural sports with my friends, as well as spending my free time reading, traveling, and exploring the great outdoors.

Hi! My name is Sejin and I’m a ChemE and Chemistry double major. My research experience is mainly on polymer thin films and I am interested in materials science, polymers, and water treatment. Outside of academics, I like to play badminton, swim, and watch movies. I’m excited to be actively involved in AIChE this year!
