We would like to warmly welcome one of the newest Wolverines to our family! Here's a photo of baby Diana, with her proud mama and grandmother. What's better than three generations of Wolverines named "Priscilla"?

Do you have anything you'd like to share with your fellow ANZ Wolverines? New business, new family member, new home, new creative project, etc? Please write in so we can spread the word!
How well do you know your University?
The school wasn't always called the University of Michigan
Originally called Catholepistemiad or University of Michigania (or just Catholepistemiad for short), it’s not surprising this name didn’t stick. Perhaps the founders were thinking the college’s curriculum would consist solely of courses on how to pronounce its name. The word is a of mixture of Greek and Latin meant to denote “academy of universal knowledge.”
A fraternity serves as the university's army
Sort of. Every year, the Theta Xi fraternity posts up on The Diag to protect the area from vandalism by rival Michigan State before the annual football game. Specifically, they defend the embedded “M” from pesky MSU students. As they say, “Defend the Diag.”
The administration building might be riot-proof
The Fleming Administration Building, designed in the 1960s, is rumored to have been built to resist damage or threats from riots and demonstrations. The center is made from heavy brick, and its windows are more like the slits you might find in a castle or fortress. As always, industrious students have foiled campus security. Fleming has been “occupied” several times, and one university president is rumored to have fled through the trusty old steam tunnels.
The Michigan-Ohio State rivalry was 13 before Michigan lost a game
Unquestionably one of the biggest rivalries in college football, the first Michigan-Ohio State game was in 1897, and it wasn't until 1919 that the Buckeyes got their first win. The game was not played in 1898 or '99 nor from 1913-17. Also there were two ties, 1900 and 1910.
