SAARC roadmap for regional cooperation on climate change adaptation
2017 and 2012-2013
As the Climate Assessment Specialist for this Asian Development Bank (ADB) project, I prepared a report and roadmap for regional cooperation on climate change adaptation by the member countries of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC). I coordinated the policy inputs of eight senior experts from South Asian countries, and finalized the report with the inputs and consent of all eight SAARC member countries.
Maharashtra State Adaptation Action Plan on Climate Change
2012 – 2013
As part of this assignment for the Government of Maharashtra, I analysed data from a survey of 1500 farming and fishing households, conducted local-level consultations on vulnerability and adaptation to climate change, and worked with a team of experts to develop adaptation options in agriculture, water resources, health, forestry, coastal and urban areas. I worked closely with Maharashtra state government officials to finalize the report and State Action Plan with inputs from relevant line ministries and departments.

National Strategy Study (NSS) on Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) in India
2003 – 2005
In the National Strategy Study (NSS) on Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) in India, funded by the World Bank and Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, I was a member of the core study team. I identified CDM project pipelines in key sectors; modelled carbon market scenarios for India using the CERT model; and conducted capacity building workshops with private sector and government officials to implement CDM projects.
Enabling activity for India’s initial National Communication (NATCOM) to the UNFCCC: Industrial processes inventory component
2002 – 2003
For Indian’s first National Communication to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), I coordinated the preparation of the GHG inventory for the industrial processes sector, in a project commissioned by the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF), Government of India.
Enabling activity for Bhutan’s National Communication to the UNFCCC

In this project funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)-Global Environment Facility (GEF), I provided technical assistance to the Government of Bhutan to prepare its first national communication to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), including the national GHG inventory. I also conducted capacity building workshops in Bhutan and India for Bhutanese government officials.
Research on key issues in climate change negotiations for India
2004-07
I provided technical support to the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF), Government of India, on issues related to international climate change negotiations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
Compendium for African policymakers
2012 - 2013
This United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA)-funded study involved the preparation of a position paper on strategic options for African countries to access adaptation finance. I reviewed the status of global climate finance and identified ways for African countries to enhance their access to international climate finance for adaptation and mitigation.
Climate & Development Research Review
2012
The Climate and Development Research Review was funded by the Climate & Development Knowledge Network (CDKN). I did technical editing, review and synthesis of literature on climate and development research, and worked closely with copyeditors to develop the final look of the reports, including consistency of themes, case studies, and images.
