Climate change researcher, Bengaluru, India

I am an economist with more than 20 years' research experience in climate change adaptation and mitigation. I am Director - Climate program, World Resources Institute (WRI) India in Bengaluru. I was previously Climate Assessment Specialist (Consultant), Asian Development Bank (ADB); Fellow, Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE), Bengaluru; and Fellow, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), Bengaluru and New Delhi. My recent work focuses on four themes: Behavioural economics, Adapting to climate change, Climate finance & infrastructure, and Policy & governance.

I have coordinated large inter-disciplinary teams for projects funded by the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, International Finance Corporation, Government of Norway, Government of India and Canadian International Development Agency. I have conducted field research with rural communities in seven states of India using participatory methods and quantitative household surveys. My research has been published in international journals like Global Environmental Change, Climate Policy, and Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies for Global Change.
