UKANDU was originally started by Mark Zehr and took place in Texas where the participants worked mostly in Mexico on different mission sites. In 2012, the mission trips to Texas ended and the current president, Pastor Peter Imlah, became president of UKANDU. From the years 1998 to 2002, UKANDU served at Winnebago and Omaha Indian Reservations in Nebraska with the help of LCMS Missionary, Rev. Ricky Jacobs. In the year 2003, UKANDU began serving Inner City Chicago, Illinois while working alongside CLEF and NID Chicago Churches. UKANDU is currently still taking place in Chicago, lead by Pastor Imlah and the Board of Directors.
