“उद्योगिनं पुरुषसिंहं उपैति लक्ष्मीः दैवं हि दैवमिति कापुरुषा वदंति।
दैवं निहत्य कुरु पौरुषं आत्मशक्त्या यत्ने कृते यदि न सिध्यति न कोऽत्र दोषः।”
"Wealth and success belong to those who work hard; the idle simply say, ‘If it’s meant to be, it will come to me."
Success is often depicted as the culmination of consistent and persistent endeavours, built upon the foundation of small, repeated efforts undertaken day in and day out. It's a sentiment that underscores the importance of dedication, perseverance, and incremental progress in achieving one's goals. Each small action, whether it is mastering a new skill, completing a task, or making incremental improvements, contributes to the larger picture of success. By embracing the discipline of consistently applying oneself and persevering through challenges, individuals pave the way for long-term achievement and fulfilment.
However, it's essential to acknowledge the role of external factors such as God's grace and luck. While hard work and perseverance lay the groundwork for success, factors beyond one's control, such as unexpected opportunities or fortunate circumstances, can also play a significant role in shaping the outcome. Embracing humility and remaining open to the possibilities of divine intervention or serendipitous occurrences can provide individuals with a sense of gratitude and perspective as they navigate their journey towards success.
In terms of a simple linear regression model, it can be specified as
Success = α + βX + u
where X is the vector for all the factors that impact our success. Taking all variables into consideration helps us understand the process of achieving the highest level of accomplishment. It keeps us grounded during favourable times and boosts our morale when headwinds are strong.
