We organized weekly writing group sessions in the Spring, Summer, and Fall of 2024. SIAM members and other graduate students (Math and AMCS) met every Wednesday in room B11 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am in the Spring and from 9:00 - 12:00 in the Summer and Fall for the writing group. The purpose of the writing group was to encourage SIAM student chapter members and other graduate students to work on their research or assignments regularly. This allowed us to do our work and motivate others on their procrastinating days. We also provided free coffee/tea and occasional treats (cookies/donuts).
We also organized a girls' night for all the women Math and AMCS graduate students. This was a wonderful chance for female graduate students to bond outside academia. The first photo is taken of the beautiful dinner cooked by the gorgeous women of our department.

We organized a 3MT competition for Math/AMCS graduate students at the end of the Spring semester 2023. This research communication competition gave graduate students an occasion to clearly and concisely articulate complex research to non-specialist audiences. It turned out to be a huge success, and we wish to continue the new tradition.
