Weather: It is a state of the atmosphere at a particular place and time as regards heat, cloudiness, dryness, sunshine, wind, rain, etc. People generally think of weather as the combination of temperature, humidity, precipitation, cloudiness, visibility and wind.
Weather condition is describing typical weather phenomena, such as a series of thunderstorms in hot summer, foggy months in autumn or other weather conditions which are typically for a specific region and/or season.
Types of Weather
There are five types of weather. They are:
Sunny : There are very little or no clouds in the sky. We experience more sunny days during summer when the days are warmer. Children enjoy ice cream during sunny days.
Cloudy: sky is dark, cold, and gloomy, or just quiet and calm. A day that is grey and dull. Cloudy days usually indicate the coming of rain but not always.
Windy: Is referred to the day when the natural wind is more frequent than the usual days. Wind might sometimes be accompanied by rain.
Rainy: It is accompanied by rain and winds. Sky becomes dark and grey and water drops fall from the sky.
Stormy: when someone tells you the weather has been stormy, they usually mean it’s been intensely rainy and windy, perhaps with some thunder and lightning, not just a light drizzle.
Causes of weather
Weather is caused by:
When the Earth is heated in an uneven way by the sun.
Temperature-How hot or cold the air is.
Humidity- The amount of water vapor in the air.
Wind-The movement of air.
Air pressure- The weight of air as it pressures down on earth.
Why is weather important?
The rain brings new life and washes away the old, leaving everything fresh and clean. Without the water that the rain provides we would not have much fresh water to drink.
Without the sunshine, natural life would begin to die. So, we need the light and energy from the sun to thrive and grow.
Weather plays a major role in determining the success of agricultural pursuits. Most field crops are dependent solely upon weather to provide life sustaining water and energy.
