By pressing the Setup button in the Menu bar the user can tune the query parameters, which are the minimum and maximum energy of interest as well as set the step size to employ when iterating and querying the NIST database. All units are in keV.
By default, the region of interest is set between 1 - 4000 keV in steps of 100 keV.
The minimum and maximum energy accepted are 1 keV and 100 GeV, respectively.
The step size can be as low as 0.01 keV and as high as the maximum energy limit.
If you turn on the Use Custom Energy List option, then a pop-up text box will appear displaying the energy values (in MeV) that the program will employ for the query, instead of the usual values from the Energy Preferences boxes.
Modify this list and close it (X) to automatically save it.
Remember to disable the option if you would like to go back to employing the energy range and step iterator boxes.
If you turn on the Accumulate Results option then the values from each new database query will be kept.
If you want to just keep the results from the latest query then turn off this option.
In the following example we can see the results from several calculations (or queries) performed at different times.
The queries were performed at different energy ranges and energy steps.
The results can be rounded by providing a valid acronym and precision value:
scientific (e), decimal (n), rounded (g), currency (c)
For example: e3, n4, g5 or c3.
