HISTORY
The College of Science is one of the degree-granting academic units of the University of Eastern Philippines. The college was established as an academic unit by the UEP Board of Regents on June 5, 1996 through Res. No. 49, s. 1996, organizing two colleges, the College of Science and the College of Arts and Communication. The existing staff and programs of the former College of Arts and Sciences were appropriately assigned to the two colleges according to discipline. It started its operation effective first semester School Year 1996- 1997, in recognition of the need to establish a center of excellence in the basic sciences.
A globally competitive university producing graduates in pursuit of higher economic welfare of the people and the community through inclusion and cooperation from the stakeholders.
Provide technical and professional training, advanced instruction in literature, arts, philosophy, the sciences and promotion of innovation, scientific and technological researches.
To continually explore better opportunities to enhance instruction, research, extension and production through linkages that will optimize utilization of resources of both government and non-government institutions.
1.) To expand the human resources development by providing necessary learning and development to all faculty and staff for global competitiveness;
2.) To enrich student development through enhancing academic programs;
3.) To develop research, development, and extension programs towards poverty reduction through food security, environment, livelihood and employment;
4.) To rationalize the university’s financial expenditures;
5.) To improve the physical resources necessary and available to support the university fulfill its programs, projects and activities; and
6.) To improve the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative systems and accountability for performance.
The University of Eastern Philippines (UEP) commits to be academically competitive, research and extension-focused, and economically sustainable public higher education institution.
Specifically, UEP shall:
Uphold the values of relevance, integrity, productivity, and excellence in service delivery;
Endeavor to continually improve the quality management system;
Provide quality services through participatory governance and compliance to legal and other prescribed requirements.
