Milestones and Updates
- Final Week (June 9th - June 13th)
- Localized navigation system for both original and new places. Route distance/estimated time enabled for all places.
- Improved UI design for input and display: the appearance and marker has been modified as well as views for adaption.
- Enhanced OCR implementation: auto-Focus has been set to active all the time, resized detection blocks for easier separation between texts.
- Week10 (June 2nd - June 8th)
- Implemented auto-complete results.
- Modified search database to integrate location information from both local and google map based sets.
- More Locations: Buildings, Trailers, Parking lots.
- Regular Expression: Fuzzy search for swap words, misspelled words. Hard-coded captions and abbreviation alternatives.
- Week9 (May 26th - June 1st)
- Finish the combination of the text recognition and map
- Complete user interface: two activity based with three general views, i.e. the map, the configuration page and the camera.
- Transfering text data between three activities
- Add new location in the database
- The search system now can suit for the new information
- Updates: Issues and Challenges (May 25th)
- When found the target, the place is highlighted with a marker; now the marker need to be destroyed when cancelled/finished searching.
- The text recognition part and map marking part were achieved in separated projects, proper composition is necessary.
- Week8 (May 21th - 25)
- Searching bar prepared, potentially an auto-complete function can be added.
- Polygon/Line layer functions achieved, the type of such polygon/polyline/marker determines the overall appearance.
- Template Map Generated with sample places.
- Week 7 (May 14th -18 )
- Map and GPS locating
- Test cases for text recognition
- Week 6 (May 7th - 13th)
- Project Demo and Website
- Preliminary research on target APIs
- Week 5 (May 1st - 6th)
