Lisa M. Vaughn, Ph.D. is Professor of Pediatrics at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine/Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center with a joint appointment in the University of Cincinnati College of Education, Criminal Justice and Human Services. She is formally trained as a social psychologist, counselor, and medical educator and has concentrated on issues relevant to marginalized populations throughout her career. Her primary research interests are about socio-cultural issues affecting the health and well-being of families especially for immigrant and minority populations in the U.S. Most of her publications are about community-partnered research and collaboration with vulnerable populations. Along with Farrah Jacquez, Lisa has established a partnership with a local public school which primarily serves immigrant and minority students. The partnership, which is now in its 5th year, is unique because it was not created for the purpose of a particular project, but rather around a specific goal: to engage immigrant and minority communities in child health research.
