Julia Rabin, M.A.

Julia Rabin is a doctoral candidate in clinical psychology and a current psychology intern at Lurie Children’s Hospital. Broadly, her research focuses on interpersonal and systemic barriers to health equity for Latinx youth and families as well as culturally relevant assets and resources of resilience. Prior published research includes a narrative review on the impacts of federal immigration policies on Latinx health and a qualitative project exploring barriers to early childhood education for Latinx preschoolers in Cincinnati.

Her current work utilizes community-based participatory research frameworks to understand the impacts of bias-based bullying and post-pandemic stress on Latinx wellbeing. Julia hopes to share findings from her dissertation research on bias-based bullying with community partners to improve academic environments and resulting psychological outcomes for Latinx youth. Her work has been presented at various national conferences, including but not limited to the Society for Community Research and Action and the National Latinx Psychological Association. Clinically, Julia is completing a child clinical psychology internship with rotations in integrated primary care, pediatric neuropsychology, infant mental health, pediatric oncology, and acute psychiatric care.

Currently, she is providing evidence-based therapy to youth with complex psychiatric histories in a partial hospitalization program. Post completion of her doctorate, Julia hopes to complete a post-doctoral fellowship in integrated primary care with the ultimate goal of becoming a bilingual clinical child psychologist.
