GENRE: CLASSIC
RATING: ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
"Animal Farm" is a famous novel by George Orwell about the animals on a farm fighting back against their owner, in order to take over the farm. It is a popular book for high school english classes, however I was never assigned it in high school so I wanted to check it out. It is a short novel (my version was under 150 pages), so it was a pretty easy read which I liked.
I don't want to give away too much of the story, but the animals begin to govern themselves on the farm, and the story is an allegory symbolizing the Russian Revolution of 1917 and the early years of the Soviet Union.
I would recommend the book to anyone who enjoys classic literature. I really liked the book because it is considered a classic and critically acclaimed, however it was still a super accessible read being about 150 pages and easy to follow.
