Welcome to the UCLA-CS After School program

UCLA After School Programs

The goal of the UCLA Community Based Learning After School programs is to build a strong community of young people in Los Angeles who actively engage in productive activities beyond regular school hours. We are committed to developing well-rounded students by enhancing their involvement of activities outside of the classroom and fostering a responsibility to contribute positively to his/her community.

We enhance students’ school experience by providing academic, enrichment, and physical fitness programs designed in social emotional practice and grounded in inclusion and equity.

Mission Statement

The UCLA Community Based Learning Program (CBL) was founded as a vehicle to bring the resources of the university, especially its faculty and students, to the under-served communities of Los Angeles. The mission of CBL is to assist youth, both teenagers and young adults, with the transition from youth to adulthood. This includes encouraging youth to move from secondary to post-secondary education and on to meaningful careers and productive adult lives
