On 20th May 2026, the UTP Civil & Environmental Engineering Students Society (UCITY) participated in Campus Venture (CaVe) 2026 at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS!
Our promotional booth served as a vibrant platform to connect with students across campus, introducing them to our department and showcasing what makes our community thrive:
Academic & Student Support: Sharing insights into our upcoming initiatives, developmental workshops, and department resources.
Community & Leadership: Highlighting opportunities to get involved, build essential soft skills, and expand professional networks.
Student Life: Engaging with engineering students to foster collaboration and a strong sense of community within UTP.
A heartfelt thank you to all the committee members who managed the booth and every visitor who stopped by to engage with us. We are excited to keep building platforms that empower and unite our civil engineering community!
Transitioning into university life is all about finding the right community, building resilience, and setting the foundation for future success.
Earlier this year, the UTP Civil & Environmental Engineering Students Society (UCITY) hosted the Civil Bootcamp January 2026 at Oval Park, UTP! Designed as a holistic orientation platform, the event welcomed around 60 Foundation and First-Year Civil Engineering students to introduce them to the department, their peers, and senior mentors.
Shifting away from traditional indoor settings, this year's bootcamp brought the energy outdoors:
The Explore Race: An action-packed team challenge that put our incoming students' communication, time-management, and strategic problem-solving skills to the test.
Kayaking at Oval Park: A thrilling team-building session focused on leadership, physical well-being, and absolute coordination in a dynamic environment.
The Ultimate Pizza Party: Wrapping up the day by networking and bonding over pizza, helping students seamlessly connect with senior committee members.
Beyond the outdoor thrills, the bootcamp gave our new students a vital head start—offering critical overviews of their academic pathways, student advisory support systems, and professional student chapters like Civil & Environmental Engineering Student Society of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (Ucity) and Institution of Civil Engineers, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS - Student Chapter (ICE-UTP-SC).
A huge thank you to our Project Director, Abdul Rahman Bin Abd Rashid, the dedicated committee members, and the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department for ensuring a safe, high-energy, and completely successful execution.
Welcome to the CEE family, freshers! Let’s keep moving forward with a positive mindset toward engineering excellence.Â
