Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) successfully hosted a one-day academic and cultural exchange visit from Mapúa University, Philippines, on 17 October 2025.
The visit aimed to strengthen international collaboration, foster academic partnerships, and promote knowledge sharing between students and staff from both institutions. Throughout the day, delegates participated in campus tours, interactive sharing sessions, and networking activities that showcased UTP’s excellence in engineering education, sustainability initiatives, and innovation culture.
The exchange provided valuable opportunities for cross-cultural learning and global engagement, marking another milestone in UTP’s continuous effort to enhance international partnerships.
The Civil Bootcamp 2025 brought together Foundation and 1st-Year Civil Engineering students for an exciting day of learning, bonding, and fun! Held on 15 October 2025 (Wednesday) at Ampang Superbowl, D Mall Seri Iskandar, the event combined a Bootcamp session with a friendly bowling competition, encouraging teamwork and connection among students.
Participants enjoyed a full experience with free entry, food, transportation, and certificates, along with attractive prizes for the winners. With participation limited to 128 students, the event provided a vibrant and engaging atmosphere that strengthened the sense of community within the Civil Engineering family.
The CEE Foundy Slice Evening was successfully held on 14 October 2025 at Nadi@UTP, providing Foundation students with an opportunity to relax, connect, and gain inspiration from their seniors in a casual and engaging setting.

On 12 October 2025, UCITY successfully conducted a post-assessment visit to Kampung Kelewang in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). The activity involved 10 volunteers comprising Civil Engineering students, lecturers, and staff, with the support of Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Perak (PKNP), TV3 media representatives, and the local Orang Asli community of Kampung Kelewang.
This visit served as a follow-up to the previous USR-KPT initiative titled “Instilling Waste Management and Hygiene Awareness Culture through Interactive Theater at Kg Kelewang, Royal Belum.”
The team carried out survey interviews to collect feedback and evaluate the impact of the earlier program.
In addition, UCITY introduced a portable composter unit to the villagers, demonstrating how household food waste can be converted into compost and organic fertilizer, promoting sustainable and eco-friendly waste management practices within the community.
Held on 4th October 2025 at Ampang Glass House, Selangor, this elegant reunion brought together Civil and Environmental Engineering alumni to reconnect, celebrate achievements, and strengthen professional ties. The event embodied cultural charm and unity within the CEE community.

Held from 31 August to 7 September 2025, this international academic programme organized by UCITY, with strong support from the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department (CEE), the Student Affairs Department (SA), and the Yayasan Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (YUTP), provided Civil and Environmental Engineering students with an immersive learning experience in Singapore’s leading sustainable and smart infrastructure projects.
Participants visited key destinations including Singapore Changi Airport, Tanjung Bin Power Plant, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore City Gallery, and the Sustainable Singapore Gallery & Marina Barrage.
The highlight of the tour was “The Smart City Circuit: An Engineering Exploration”, where students conducted on-site studies across various regions in Singapore to analyse urban sustainability, water security, and smart mobility.
This programme offered valuable insights into Singapore’s integrated approach to city planning, renewable energy, and environmental management, inspiring students to adopt innovative and sustainable engineering practices in Malaysia.
Held at Sunway City Ipoh Mall Site, Tambun, CONnect by SunCon was an exclusive industry engagement programme organized by Sunway Construction Sdn. Bhd. in collaboration with UCITY, E3S2 UTP, and IMechE UTP Student Chapter.
This half-day event brought together undergraduate students from Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical & Electronics Engineering for a hands-on site visit, interactive sessions with industry professionals, and career development clinics.
Participants gained valuable insights into real-world construction practices, strengthened their professional networks, and enhanced their career readiness through direct engagement with SunCon engineers and managers, bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations
Held on 16 July 2025, UCITY CIVEX: Civil Engineering Exposure was a field exposure programme designed to build future engineers through hands-on learning and professional engagement, aligning with the slogan “Field Exposure that Builds Future Engineers”.
The visit to Temenggor Dam, one of Malaysia’s largest hydroelectric facilities, offered students valuable real-world insights into dam safety inspections, instrumentation monitoring, and hydropower operations. This enriching experience strengthened their practical understanding of sustainable infrastructure and highlighted the vital role of civil engineers in supporting Malaysia’s renewable energy and water resource management.
Campus Venture 2025 (CAVE 2025) was a one-day exhibition held on 28 May 2025 at the Chancellor Complex, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), where all student societies and clubs came together to introduce and promote their activities to new students. The event served as a vibrant platform for engagement, networking, and community building among the UTP student body.
During the event, UCITY and the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) UTP Student Chapter — representing the Civil Engineering academic cluster — showcased their initiatives, achievements, and upcoming programmes. Through interactive booths and creative displays, both clubs highlighted their roles as the driving forces (“the bulbs”) of civil engineering student development, inspiring new members to join, learn, and grow within the field.
UCITY Foundation was a 2-day, 1-night teambuilding event held from 24–25 May 2025 at Sinju Retreat, uniting members of the UCITY family for a weekend of bonding, reflection, and growth. As the name suggests, Foundation symbolizes the strong base upon which UCITY stands — embodying unity, teamwork, and commitment.
The programme featured a series of team challenges, leadership activities, and sharing sessions designed to strengthen relationships among members while reinforcing UCITY’s core values. This meaningful event served as a platform to build trust, foster collaboration, and lay the foundation for another impactful year ahead.
Civil Bootcamp 2025 was a one-day orientation and engagement event organized by UCITY, specially designed for Foundation and First-Year Civil Engineering students. Held on 21 May 2025, the event aimed to welcome new members of the Civil Engineering community and guide them through their academic journey at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP).
The programme combined fun, learning, and teamwork, featuring activities that built self-confidence, encouraged collaboration, and fostered a strong sense of belonging among participants. Students had the opportunity to interact with lecturers and peers, explore department facilities, and gain valuable insights into academic advising, mobility programmes, UCITY, ICE, and more.
Through Civil Bootcamp, students were introduced to the expectations, curriculum structure, and culture of the Civil Engineering programme — helping them transition smoothly into university life and prepare for success both academically and personally.
Held on 8 May 2025 at Kg Kelewang, Royal Belum, the USR-KPT Activity was an impactful community engagement initiative aimed at raising awareness about waste management and hygiene practices among the Orang Asli community. This meaningful programme creatively combined performing arts and sustainability education through an interactive theatre approach, transforming traditional awareness campaigns into an engaging and immersive learning experience.
The initiative was a collaboration between Tronoh Theatre Shop (TTS) and the UTP Civil & Environmental Engineering Students’ Society (UCITY). By integrating storytelling, role-playing, and real-life scenarios, the event successfully promoted proper waste disposal, encouraged community-driven solutions, and strengthened university–community partnerships in sustainability.
A total of 50 residents, including both children and adults, participated actively in the session. The interactive performances inspired lively discussions, enhanced environmental awareness, and provided valuable insights into local practices and challenges. Despite language and infrastructure barriers, the programme achieved its goal of fostering greater understanding and commitment toward a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment in Kg Kelewang.
Civil Award & D’Light Iftar 2025 was a heartwarming appreciation and community event organized by UCITY, held on 28 March 2025. The event brought together Civil and Environmental Engineering students and staff to celebrate excellence, unity, and gratitude. It served as a platform to recognize students’ academic achievements, honor outstanding contributions, and strengthen relationships between students and lecturers within the department.
In conjunction with the spirit of Ramadan, the evening also featured a meaningful iftar session, fostering reflection, togetherness, and charitable giving. Through this initiative, UCITY aimed to nurture a sense of belonging while promoting values of gratitude, compassion, and collaboration within the Civil Engineering community.
