Webelos is the 5th level in Cub Scouts, for grade 4. It is pronounced WEE-buh-lows. It stands for "We Be Loyal Scouts" It has a different uniform than the other ranks, and is responsible for more things.
The Webelos uniform is different from the blue shorts and blue shirt. Instead, it has a tan shirt, and olive green cargo pants. However, our pack has decided that we are a waist up pack for most events, so you can wear just the shirt and jeans. There is also a Webelos hat, and a neckerchief and slide. If you go to your local Scout Shop, they can help you find all of these items.
The Webelos Badge is a fleur-de-lis. The three petals or leaves represent the threefold Scout Promise Duty to God and Country, Duty to Self, Duty to Others. The two small five-point stars stand for truth and knowledge. Together their ten points represent the ten original Scout laws. The reef knot or square knot represents the strength of World Scouting. The rope is for the unity of Scouts throughout the world. The ring holding the petals together represents the bond of brotherhood.
