2024 - 2025 Season Tryouts Information
Tryouts are Monday September 9th, 2024!
When: 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Where: University of Calgary Gymnastics Center
Cost: $10
Tryouts are open to any post-secondary students. (No need to attend U of C, you just need to be enrolled in any post-secondary institution [example; SAIT, MRU, Athabasca])
Tryout Callbacks: Callbacks are Wednesday September 11th, from 8-10pm.

When & where are tryouts?
Tryouts for the 2024-2025 Season are Monday, September 9th, from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the University of Calgary Gymnastics Center
How do I sign up for tryouts?
Registration for tryouts can be found on our website or link tree on our Instagram
Is the team made up of U of C students only?
Tryouts are open to any post-secondary students. We will take any students who are enrolled in any post-secondary institution whether that's U of C, SAIT, MRU, Athabasca
Is experience required for tryouts?
You do not need any experience! Everyone is welcome to try out and our coaches will gladly teach you stunts, jumps & techniques you need to know.
That being said having a cheer background or having dance, gymnastics, or tumbling background will definitely give you an advantage at tryouts
What to wear? What to bring to tryouts?
Wear athletic material clothing, cheer shoes or clean indoor runners, water bottle, signed waivers, $10 tryout fee. Bring only what you need as there isn't a lot of space to store your stuff or lock it up
Will the team be cheering at games and competing?
We will be cheering at all of the Dinos football home games, a couple women's basketball games. A couple of other various events around campus. Four competitions see events page for schedule
How many people make the team?
The team has 36 athletes.
More athletes to make tryouts are at the coaches discretion
Team alternates are not determined until their skills have been fully assessed
How many days of the week does the team train?
Twice a week Mondays and Wednesdays 8:00- 10:00 pm and once a month friday special training practice
Best advice for tryouts?
There is no need to stress about tryouts; the coaches will do a great job guiding you through the tryouts.
Best advice would be to start working on your stretching for flexibility and work on strength training.
Bring a good attitude to tryouts as coaches notice when you're working hard!
