Our Culture

our people are our strength

Who we are as an organization is directly impacted by our members. That's why we strive to foster a culture of inclusivity, learning, and empowerment. Through our development and culture training program and the example our leaders set, we foster an environment where everyone is a valued member of the team.

We Take Our Jobs Seriously, But Not Ourselves

Our members make an impact on hundreds of residents every year. Facilitating programming at this scale is no easy feat, which is why we put a lot of effort into the work we do. That being said, we're also here to have fun! RAA members have the power to balance work and play in the way that suits them; we encourage our members to participate in our activities with residents and maintain a lighthearted environment.

Inclusivity and Equal Opportunity

We are welcoming of individuals from all walks of life and provide equal opportunity to everyone. Diversity and inclusion have a strong foundation in our culture, and we are committed to treating all persons with the respect and dignity they deserve.

The Only True Failure is Failure to Learn

Some of the most impactful learning we ever have is when we learn from our mistakes. We empower our members to do what they think is right, take risks, and run with their ideas. Sometimes things don't work out, and that's okay! At RAA, failure is an opportunity to learn and do better next time. We prioritize coaching over criticism.

The Power to Say What You Mean

Candid conversations are powerful - the ability to say what you mean and share feedback with your peers, leaders, and reports allows us to function effectively as a team. We value what all stakeholders think, and that rings true at the core of how we operate. Members and leaders alike are encouraged to say what they mean, and everyone has a mutual understanding that feedback is delivered with the intent of helping the recipient improve.
