Creating Campus Change takes a Representative that can Lead and Make it Happen, you want those results?Â
Then Vote Alika Turton for '23-'24 Student Representative!
Alika's campaign is fighting for the ability for UB students to have a better Student Experience. While change on campus can not be made in a day, Alika knows that with her go getter attitude, no nonsense policy, extensive experience in student leadership and ability to work creatively with any task she is given, that she can show all organizations and administrations that she works with on campus, the need by students to feel as though their voices are heard.
In Alika's Platform, she outlines a few key concerns by students on issues she has heard by speaking to them. If elected, Alika does not plan to stop there, she wants to ensure that throughout the year students know that they have a Student Representative that is willing to call UB out for anything that harms the student body. This is where her mission statement of LEI comes in.
Lead : Alika sees the need for a student voice in spaces that need student representation and wants to take that head on. She also wants to provide students with more clear information on rules and legislation that impact us at UB and set a precedent for what it means to be a student in leadership at UB
Empower : UB students play a huge role in creating the community feeling on campus. Alika wants to encourage students to continue actively speaking out about how they feel and what they need from UB and provide students with a platform that allows them to speak with her and actively see throughout her term what changes are being made to lessen the issues we face
Innovate : A huge issue at UB in all areas of government and leadership is transparency. Alika wants to create a new way to provide students with more transparency on what the UB Council, Council for Advocacy & Leadership (COAL) and Faculty Senate are doing to help us succeed in all areas of being students and a community as a whole and better the process of how UB goes about addressing student concerns
