When I think of an ideal mentor for math, I think of the best math tutor I ever knew, Will. For any potential math mentors, I will evaluate them by Will standards.
For math teachers I have two options, Mr. Ackerman and Dr. Fernandez.
For reading I need a mentor who is well-versed in literature.
I got two choices in Language Arts teachers as well, Mr. Ehrich and Mr. Maher.
For me, learning how to code has been a struggle so finding an ideal mentor would be difficult.
For mentors I have two choices.
Professor Ko is the first optimal choice for a mentor. From my past experience learning from him, I know he is skilled in programming languages and good at teaching. Getting access to him would be difficult so I would probably rely on email. As for what I would give back, it would be an example of how people like me learn to code.
Leanne is the Career Exploration co-teacher this summer and though I do not know as much about her, I do know that she is friendly and helpful in class. After all, it is primarily her who answers the questions I have. She is another difficult person to contact so also email in this case. I could give feedback on her teaching as well as an idea of what students need help on when learning programming.
