Professional Code of Conduct
As a doctor, and a Pediatric Resident within UBMD Pediatrics, we expect all residents to understand and follow the Professional Code of Conduct. Failure to comply with this policy will be reflected on your annual evaluation submitted to the ACGME and during your semi-annual reviews with Dr. Black as part of your overall performance.
Communication
1. All communication from the Pediatric Medical Education office, Graduate Medical Education office, etc. will be sent to your buffalo.edu email address. You must use that address as your primary form of contact.
2. You are expected to be available and reachable by phone when on Jeopardy. All calls must be returned within 10-minutes.
Accountability
3. Arrive on time and sign-in to all Thursday afternoon lectures, Chief-Rounds and Grand Rounds. All conference sessions have been carefully scheduled into your work hours in compliance with the ACGME work-hour regulations. Previously defined rotations are excluded from attendance.
4. Arrive to your scheduled shifts on time and stay until completion.
5. Be present and sign into all didactic/research half day sessions during your “plus one week.”
Evaluation
6. Complete your ILP and personal wellness forms prior to your semi-annual evaluations.
7. Complete all peer-to-peer evaluations in a timely manner.
8. Complete all assigned PREP review questions in a timely manner.
9. Complete and submit all “360 Evaluations” do the PME office (1 parent/patient and 1 staff evaluation per year).
10. Sign up and arrive on-time to all scheduled 6-month-evlauaitons with Dr. Black or your advisors.
Reimbursement
11. Should you attend a conference, you must submit all reimbursement paperwork no more than 1 month from your return from the trip. Please refer to the UPA Reimbursement Policy attached.
12. For Global Health Elective trips (Kenya and Guyana) the program will cover up to $1,000 towards airfare, the rest is to be covered by the resident.
