1. Google site for the 2016/17 edition of DFDS3101

The 4 Google sites used from 2013/14 to 2016/17 to support the DFDS3101 Digital Systems course continue to be available, but navigation is limited due to two main reasons: the third-party gadgets used in the earlier versions to embed YouTube videos are no longer available (the videos continue to exist in YouTube but are no longer visible in the course pages); and part of the content has restricted access because it contains student contributions (e.g. responses posted to the Google Groups used to support class discussions). The former problem does not affect the last course website (created to support the 2016/17 edition), which can be visited here. The illustrations below represent examples of its main types of pages. Notice that the course workspace and the discussion forum messages will not be visible when visiting the live website, since they are only accessible to the teacher and to that cohort of students.

Calendar page (home). Note: The calendar displays by default the current date, so the visitor will have to navigate to a different date in order to see the activities planned on that occasion (illustrated above for September 2016).

Lecture page comprising 3 embedded playlists with a total of 9 individual videos hosted at YouTube — 3 videos on top, 4 videos in the middle (as shown), and 2 videos at bottom. The 2016/17 edition of the DFDS3101 comprised a total of 31 video lectures.

Access to the course shared workspace (on Google Drive). Note: The folders shown above contain course materials shared only with the class, and will not be visible to other visitors.

Course discussions (asynchronous discussion space created with Google Groups). Note: The “posts” column represents the number of contributions to each discussion from students and teacher, and the “views” column represents the number of times each discussion was visited. Discussions are listed by “recent activity” order, and the list above shows the topics considered in 10 of the 54 discussions that were launched in this edition of the course .
