WSC-Approved Literature Committee Proposed Motion 1 for WSC 2026

Original Motion Title: Motion to Continue Use of the 2023 WSC-Approved Draft Concepts for UA World Service, Pending Provisional Approval at WSC 2027 or WSC 2028

The WSC-Approved Literature Committee recommends for the 2026 World Service Conference Agenda the following motion: 

Original Full Motion: 

The WSC Approved Literature Committee moves that the 2023 WSC-Approved Draft 12 Concepts for UA World Service be approved for continued use by the UA World Service Conference, with any possible changes to be incorporated and the Concepts finalized for provisional approval at the 2027 World Service Conference, in order to allow the UA Groups a nine-month period from the close of the 2027 World Service Conference to vote on approval of the Concepts. If the GSR Committee and the Literature Committee jointly determine that the Concepts are not ready to be brought to the 2027 World Service Conference, the Concepts will instead be brought to the 2028 World Service Conference for provisional approval, including any possible changes, with the UA Groups having a nine-month period from the close of the 2028 World Service Conference to vote on approval of the Concepts.

Amended or Substitute Full Motion:

The WSC Approved Literature Committee moves that the 2023 WSC-Approved Draft 12 Concepts for UA World Service be approved for continued use by the UA World Service Conference, with no changes to be incorporated until unity and stability have been restored to the fellowship as determined at a future World Service Conference.

Background:

This motion was approved unanimously at the Joint Concepts Working Group meeting held on September 19, 2026, as well as at the GSRC and WSC Approved Literature Committee meetings held September 20, 2026. This is the version of the Concepts that was the focus of the 12 Concepts for UA World Service Workshop held on August 30, 2026. A final draft of the 12 Concepts for UA World Service has not been passed yet at a UA World Service Conference.The WSC 2023 approved draft concepts were amended from the 2016 Concepts approved by the GSB, and included in their bylaws. As we work towards Unity in our fellowship, having one common set of concepts that is inclusive of all, is critical.

2026 WSC Approved Literature Committee Proposed Motions:

Motion Title: Lit Com Motion 2 To Conference Approve The “Are You An Underearner Pamphlet?”.

Draft Update 2026 "Are You an Underearner?"

This Motion will be presented by Shari Lynn K. on behalf of the 

WSC-Approved Literature Committee. 

Full Motion: The Literature Committee Moves that the World Service Conference Approve the “Are You an Underearner?” pamphlet as conference-approved literature.  This pamphlet was approved by the GSB and The Literature Committee in 2015.  However, it was never brought to a World Service Conference.

Once approved, it will be posted on all relevant UA websites.

Background: Prior to UA WSC 2016, this pamphlet was one of the items to be brought to the conference.  However, due to organizational confusion, it was never put forward.  It was found on the UA NY Intergroup site where it has been ever since.  It is a useful piece of literature and a great addition to our Conference-approved resources.

Lit Com Motion 3 To Conference Approve The Next Installment Of (7) stories for “Today We Prosper UA -Stories of Recovery from Underearning.”

This Motion will be presented by Shari Lynn K. on behalf of the 

WSC-Approved Literature Committee. 

Full Motion: The Literature Committee Moves that the World Service Conference Approve the next installment of (7) stories for “Today We Prosper UA-Stories of Recovery from Underearning.” These new stories will be added to the stories already posted on The World Service conference website and added to the other stories on Weareallua.org, and included with all UA Conference Approved Literature on any other relevant UA websites.

Background: At UA WSC 2023 a unanimous motion was passed (40 yay, 0 Nay, 1 abstention) to conference approve the first 10 stories of “A book of stories of recovery from underearning” with the understanding that each year at the World Service Conference additional installments of stories would be considered for approval until the book is complete.  These seven stories represent the 2026 proposed additions to the book. Each author who has shared their personal Experience, Strength, and Hope in these stories has completed the 12 Steps in UA with a UA Sponsor, is sponsoring one or more members in UA, has a service commitment and at least three years of recovery in UA. Please feel free to take what you like and leave the rest. Note: All stories are available in the original English. Each region/language, due to cultural and political ramifications, may choose which stories they will translate for distribution in their region.
