In May of 2023, the PI Michelusi taught a 5-day seminar to Ph.D. students at the University Carlos III of Madrid, Spain. The seminar was on "Sequential Decision-Making Under Uncertainty" and was attended by around 10 students. The course is a compact version of the graduate class the PI has been teaching at ASU. This course provided an invaluable opportunity for PhD students to apply these tools to their research.
In the Fall 2021 semester, the PI Michelusi developed and taught a new graduate-level course titled "Learning-Based Sequential Decision-Making Under Uncertainty," which covered the fundamental theory, algorithms, and applications of Markov decision processes in observable and partially observable domains, reinforcement learning, and approximate methods (including deep reinforcement learning). These are important tools in the design of adaptation techniques in dynamic wireless systems, such as UAV-aided wireless systems covered in this project. The course was taught again in the Spring'23 semester.
In the Spring 2022, Fall 2022 and Fall 2023 semesters, the PI Michelusi developed and taught a new grad course on "Digital and Wireless Communications." The course covers the fundamental theory underpinning modern digital wireless systems and teaches students tools to analyze, design, and simulate wireless systems.
