The Atmospheric Chemistry and Air Quality (ACAQ) research group at the University at Albany Atmospheric Sciences Research Center (ASRC) conducts integrated observations of atmospheric composition, urban and coastal photochemistry, aerosol evolution, and air quality processes across multiple spatial scales. Our research combines advanced mobile atmospheric chemistry measurements, ground-based monitoring networks, satellite observations, and field deployments to investigate the sources, transformation, transport, and impacts of atmospheric pollutants under complex environmental conditions.
The group operates a state-of-the-art mobile atmospheric chemistry laboratory equipped with PTR-MS, HR-ToF-AMS, trace gas analyzers, and aerosol instrumentation to support high-resolution studies of ozone formation, secondary aerosol production, urban plume evolution, wildfire smoke impacts, and extreme atmospheric events.
