GCF holds many events over the course of the academic year. To view a full list of upcoming events, visit our Campus Groups page. Events will be synced to the calendar below.
As a community of busy graduate students, we understand that not everyone has time to commit to every event. We welcome you to attend as many events as your schedule allows.
During the school year, our regular large group gathering is on Friday nights from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at the Vineyard Christian Community. Our time is usually spent breaking bread and socializing, followed by a short time of worship and prayer, and concluding with either a message from a guest speaker or small group discussions on a theme relevant to following Christ as a graduate student. The Vineyard is located at 625 N 2nd Ave (Tucson).
In addition to our large group gathering, two small groups meet weekly to eat, study the bible, and pray:
Tuesday nights from 6:30pm: Hosted by Megan Kane and led by Jason Caywood. Contact Jason for more information.
Monthly Sabbath gathering on Saturdays from 6:30pm to 9:30pm: Hosted by Addison Lander. Contact Addison for more information.
Welcome Back BBQ: We kick off each academic year with a BBQ. This is a chance for current students to reconnect with each other and for new students to learn about GCF and meet fellow Christian graduate students. This event is usually held the first Sunday before the start of the Fall semester.
Fall Retreat: We begin the Fall semester with an overnight retreat on Mt. Lemmon. This 24 hour retreat consists of eating food and socializing on Friday night, followed by a "retreat of silence" and a time to reflect deeply on a reading of spiritual significance. The Fall Retreat is a great time to connect with GCF and make friends. This event is usually held during Labor Day weekend.
ISF Dance: Every November the Graduate Christian Fellowship teams up with the International Student Fellowship (ISF) to host a dance.
Christmas Party: We end the Fall semester with our annual Christmas Party, which usually involves a white elephant gift exchange. This event is usually held during the last Friday of the Fall semester.
Spring Retreat: We begin the Spring semester with an overnight retreat in Florida Canyon. The format of the Spring Retreat follows a very similar format to the Fall Retreat, and includes time for eating food, socializing, retreating in silence, and discussing a reading. This event is usually held during the Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend.
End-of-the-Year Banquet: We close out the academic year much like we started it, with a BBQ. This is a chance to celebrate the completion of the academic year and to pray for GCF members who are graduating from their programs. The End-of-the-Year Banquet is usually held during the last Friday of the Spring semester.
