What is Eta Sigma Gamma - Delta Xi Chapter?

Eta Sigma Gamma, or ESG, is the National Public Health Education Honor Society. We are the Delta Xi Chapter at the University of Alabama.

Our Mission

The mission of Eta Sigma Gamma is to promote the health education discipline by elevating the standards, ideals, competence, and ethics of students enrolled in professional preparation programs that subscribe to and align with the national health education competencies. 

Our Goals

• supporting the planning, implementation, and evaluation of health education programs and resources

• stimulating and disseminating scientific research

• motivating and providing health education services

• recognizing academic achievement

• supporting health education advocacy initiatives

• promoting professional standards and ethics

• promoting networking activities among health educators and related professionals
