U18BB1 Markham Waxers: Our Story
U18BB1 Markham Waxers: Our Story
Every great team has a story — and for the U18 BB1 Markham Waxers, that story has been five years in the making.
It began at U14, when a young and eager group of players first came together – (which closely resembles the team composition today), learning how to compete, how to win, and how to grow as a team – they captured their first York Simcoe Championship. By U15, they had hit their stride, completing an extraordinary 39-0 season in league play and repeating as York Simcoe Champions which marked them as one of the most dominant teams in the province.
At U16 and U17, the challenges grew tougher. The team faced adversity for the first time but stayed united, proving that they had the resilience and character to overcome obstacles. At U16, they earned their third straight regular season title, and falling just short in the league Championships. While at U17, despite competing as a full minor team (in the U18 division) the team finished 3rd in the playoffs and earned several tournament championships.
Those seasons were defining moments, sharpening their identity and preparing them for what was to come.
2022-2023 Inaugural Oakville Rangers Winter Classic Champions
2025-2026 OMHA Champions
Now, at U18, the Waxers are ready for their final ride together. This group has played hundreds of games, collected four regular-season titles, three York-Simcoe Championships, an OMHA Championship and captured eight tournament championships. Their track record speaks for itself — but this season, they are focused on one last goal, one last chapter: becoming the inaugural U18 Non-Body Checking BB/A OHF Champions.
With the 2026 OHF Non-Body Checking (BB/A) Championships taking place on home ice, the Waxers have the opportunity to write the perfect ending to their story. Every game will matter, every shift will count, and the team is ready to give everything they have in pursuit of one more championship moment. For the U18 BB1 Markham Waxers, the message is clear: There Is No Tomorrow.
