U D’cide – Privacy Statement

Summary

U D’cide is designed to help groups decide where to eat. We do not collect personal information from users. If you choose to allow location access, we use your device’s location only to find nearby restaurants. We do not store this data, we do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

Data We Collect

• Device Location (optional):
  Collected only when you grant permission in your device settings or in-app prompt. Used to determine nearby food locations within your selected search radius.
  
  

We do not collect your name, email, phone number, payment info, contacts, photos, identifiers, or any other personal data.

How We Use Location Data

• To search for restaurants near your current location or a chosen location.
  
  

• To display results to you and your group members in real time.
  
  

Data Storage & Retention

• Location data is processed ephemerally (in real time) for the purpose of returning nearby results.
  
  

• We do not store location data on our servers after the search completes.
  
  

• We do not create user profiles.
  
  

Sharing & Selling

• We do not sell or rent any data to third parties.
  
  

• We do not share data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

• To retrieve nearby places, the app may query a mapping/places provider (Google). Your approximate coordinates may be sent to that provider solely to return results. That provider processes data under its own privacy policy.

Advertising & Tracking

• U D’cide does not use collected data for targeted advertising.
  
  

• We do not use ad identifiers or cross-site tracking.
  
  

Your Choices

• You can grant or revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.
  
  

• If you deny permission, you can still use the app by selecting a location manually (where supported).
  
  

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data in transit. Because we do not retain location data after your search, ongoing storage risk is minimized.

Children’s Privacy

U D’cide is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we will update this statement and the “Effective date” above. Continued use of the app after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
