In high school, I was the graphic designer and video editor for a pair of music videos/interviews featuring my old friends from the Minneapolis-based band “Slowspeed”. Both were screened at the Catalyst Film Festival. I no longer have the footage, though you can read about my involvement with the projects by visiting my IMDb page.
Over the fall of 2022, I created the following video documenting the Duluth Armory Arts & Music Center. This project resulted from my collaboration with their organization, The University of Minnesota Duluth’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences departments, and the Twin Ports creative economy collectively. Following a positive initial reception of small, private screenings, I was interviewed by Teri Cadeau for this article in the Duluth News Tribune. In February of 2023, a large screening of the video was held at The West Theatre in Duluth. Today, I continue to work with the Duluth Armory Arts & Music Center as an independent author and media designer, as well as guitar teacher with their Music Resource Center. "The final product is just amazing. It really just captures the spirit of the place and I can tell how much research was done on the back end of it.” – Michelle Miller, Fundraising Director, Duluth Armory Arts & Music Center
I created the video interview below of Jeff Adams of The Icebox Radio Theatre during my time in the WRIT 2506 (Theories of Writing Studies) class at UMD. Additionally, my press release, calendar entry, and article about Adams' visit to UMD were published by the University, as well as the Perfect Duluth Day blog. See the "Professional Writing" tab for more about these works.
In the spring of 2023, I worked with the University of Minnesota Duluth's Kathryn A. Martin Library, as well as the Duluth Poet Laureates to produce this pair of videos preserving and promoting the literary history and culture of the Twin Ports region.
