Use a restricted Google Site

Restricted Google Site

Access is built in by the developer or owner.

If you have access, you may be able to View only, or you may be able to Edit as well (using your role as Editor).

There are two ways of using a restricted Google Site when you have access as "Editor".

A. You can just view the pages, or

B. You can go to Google Sites, choose the site to edit, and resume (or begin) editing. You must remember to Publish for any changes to stick.

How does option A work?

A1. You point the browser at the Google Site. The address might be -

https://sites.google.com/view/duncan-rel/home

- and you can either enter this into the address bar or click on the link. If you intend going there again then create a bookmark.

A2. Google will ask you to login (unless you are logged in already).

A3. When logged in the Site can be browsed but not edited.

How does option B work?

B1. You point the browser at Google Sites site creation area. The address is -

https://sites.google.com/u/1/new?authuser=1

- - and you can either enter this into the address bar or click on the link. If you intend going there again then create a bookmark.

B2. Google will ask you to login (unless you are logged in already).

B3. When logged in you choose the site to edit.

B4. You can browse using the menu or choose from Pages on the right. You have more tools to work with.

Add a comment

You may wish to add to an existing comment - the easiest edit.

Find the comment, click in behind the last word, press Enter to start a new line, type your words ... repeat until done.

B5. Then click Publish at top right to save your work!

B6. Finished? Click the circle with the letter in it and choose Sign out.
