Kylie started at TWU in Spring of 2025. She received her Bachelors from Oklahoma Baptist University in 2023 with a major in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice. Her favorite color is pink, favorite food is sushi, and her favorite drink is a ✨crispy✨ coke zero. In her free time, she loves reading, trying out coffee shops and hanging out with family and friends. Her passions include adding joy to every day, falling down rabbit holes on random topics and making people feel included in any way possible.
Anamely is a public library clerk and writer from the Rio Grande Valley. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rice University in 2018 and began the TWU MLS program in January 2025. She hopes to work as a public librarian after graduation but is also excited to explore the different program tracks. When not working or studying, she enjoys reading heartfelt family-centered novels, watching horror movies and comedy-drama series, and creating new playlists for her Spotify library.
Hannah started TWU’s MLS program in Fall 2025, after leaving an 18-year career as a CPA, doing taxes. Her undergraduate degree is in Accounting from the University of Oklahoma, but she is thrilled to be pursuing her childhood dream of becoming a librarian. She lives in Desoto, TX (a suburb south of Dallas) with her husband, her three boys, and a mess-making blue heeler puppy. If she isn’t reading, she's probably baking, doing puzzles, or taking her boys to library programs. She loves all things Agatha Christie! And if you want to start an argument with her, just claim that audiobooks don’t count as real reading! 😉
Erika earned her Bachelor's in Human Development and Family Sciences, Honors, with a minor in Spanish, from the University of Texas at Austin. After taking a gap year to rest and travel, she started her graduate program refreshed at TWU, pursuing dual masters in Library Sciences and Health Studies. Erika is a first generation student and the first in her family to pursue graduate education. She hopes to become a health science or medical librarian. In her free time, Erika enjoys hiking, baking, reading, and occasionally crocheting.
Samantha is an MLS student based in Austin, Texas who began the program in January 2025. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Central American Studies with a minor in Spanish Language and Culture and has a love for history and preservation. She is interested in working in a special library or archive within a university setting and currently works as the Service Desk Manager at UT Austin in the College of Education.
Her favorite snack combo is an iced latte and croissant, usually enjoyed during homework sessions at her local Barnes & Noble. In her free time, Samantha enjoys reading romantasy, watching documentaries, exploring new neighborhoods, trying new restaurants, and taking long walks with her dogs, Cash and Bo. As a former teacher who loves creating engaging content, she’s excited to serve as GLISA’s Web Administrator.
Hi everyone! I’m Claudia Raquel Ramirez, and I’m honored to serve as GLISA’s first Historian. My passion for literacy, advocacy, and representation will guide my work as an officer and my future career as a librarian. Growing up along the border of Mexico shaped my views on culture and identity, perspectives I’m excited to bring to my roles. After three years in sales, I’m excited to pivot into librarianship, especially archiving, cataloging, metadata, and/or digital data management. I am a whiz when it comes to organizing shared files, creating standardized operating procedures, and any detail-oriented, meticulous work. I have 2 more semesters to go until graduation!
At home, I’m surrounded by love: my husband (together for 10 years, married for 2) and our toothy 5-year-old pup Iggy. I cherish time spent with my 12-year-old sister, rainy evenings, and cheese. Even though I spend a majority of time in my cozy home, I also enjoy thrills like horror movies & video games, amusement parks, and singing at the top of my lungs at stoplights. I love embroidery, puzzles, and any excuse to dress up, like concerts, conventions, and Halloween. My top artists are Twenty One Pilots, Mother Mother, Oliver Tree, Chappell Roan, System of a Down, CocoRosie, and others that come and go from my rotation. Some books I wish I had written are: The Hunger Games, The Martian, The Institute, and Monster.
Finally, before I go, I leave you with a quote that moved me recently: "I am a museum of everything I've ever loved."
