The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) is one of the six principal organs of the United Nations established in 1945. The committee consists of 54 member states, selected from the General Assembly for a three-year term. Its main purpose is to deal with economic, social, cultural, health and humanitarian matters including fundamental freedoms around the globe. As a central committee focusing on promoting social progress and a better standard of living, ECOSOC has set up both functional and regional commissions to deal with different parts of the issues. This year, we aim to focus on food distribution problem and hope to further eliminate world hunger in our conference.
