Whipped Body Butter
Whipped Body Butter Ingredients no recipe just ideas
Coconut Oil: Organic coconut oil is unlike any other skin product! Because of its low molecular weight and the method of binding to proteins, coconut oil can penetrate the skin more deeply than other products.
Shea Butter: Shea butter is an intense moisturizer for rough skin. Due to its emollient properties, it’s a perfect ingredient to include in your body care recipes, especially in body butter.
Cocoa Butter: Cocoa butter will soften at body temperature and add a thick and creamy consistency to lotions, creams, and body butters. In addition, cocoa butter contains the natural antioxidant Vitamin E and several other vitamins and minerals.
Jojoba Oil: Jojoba oil is low comedogenic carrier oil that’s moisturizing and soothing to inflamed skin. If jojoba oil is unavailable, sweet almond oil is a good substitute that contains fatty acids and vitamins A and E and penetrates quickly into the skin.
Essential Oils: These plant-based oils are natural and safer than synthetic fragrances. But don’t go overboard; a few drops are all you need to scent homemade body butter.
Arrowroot Powder: Because this moisturizer is an oil-based, it can feel a little greasy on some skin types. Adding arrowroot powder or cornstarch helps to cut the greasy feeling on your skin. If arrowroot powder isn’t available, corn starch or tapioca starch are good substitutes.
Cod Oil: Vitamin D carrier
Avocado Oil: Vitamin A, E
Almond Oil:
Because this recipe is oily-based and natural, the oils and butters may melt if stored in a warm environment. Therefore, it’s best to keep this body butter in a cool, dry place. Then, if the oils begin to melt by chance, you can refrigerate the butter and re-whip it.
INGREDIENTS
2.5 ounces coconut oil (approximately 1/3 cup)
2.5 ounces shea butter (approximately 1/3 cup)
2.5 ounces cocoa butter (approximately 1/3 cup) (raw cocoa butter has a strong smell. Use refined cocoa butter instead if this is an issue for you.)
2.5 ounces jojoba oil or sweet almond oil (approximately 1/3 cup)
2 teaspoons arrowroot powder (optional – makes it not feel greasy on the skin
15–30 drops essential oils (add more if you like)
INSTRUCTIONS
In a double boiler or glass bowl, combine all ingredients except essential oils.
Bring to medium heat and stir constantly until all ingredients are melted. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Move to the fridge and let cool another 1 hour or until starting to harden but still somewhat soft.
Use a hand mixer to whip for 10 minutes until fluffy. Add essential oils and whip for another minute.
Store in a glass jar with a lid.
Hyaluronic acid serum
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is naturally found in the skin, where it helps maintain elasticity by trapping moisture, which in turn may smooth the appearance of wrinkles. HA is hydrophilic (water-loving) and binds to water, giving it a dense, gel-like quality.
Hyaluronic acid is present in every cell in the body and serves numerous functions. Among many other things, it helps to lubricate joints, connective tissues, cartilage, and muscles. It also maintains eye, gum, and scalp health and skin elasticity and hydration. However, with age, the ability of the body to produce HA decreases, and we begin to experience signs of aging such as joint pain and stiffness, wrinkly skin, and other problems.
This hyaluronic acid serum recipe is perfect for all skin types and can be used daily to moisturize and repair the skin.
INGREDIENTS
1/8 Teaspoon Hyaluronic Acid Powder
2 ounces Rose Water /or Magnesium Oil
2–4 Drops Essential Oils
INSTRUCTIONS
Mix 1/8 teaspoon of hyaluronic acid powder into 2 ounces of distilled water, magnesium oil or rose water.
Shake the ingredients together vigorously so the powder dissolves properly.
Now, add 1-4 drops of pure therapeutic essentials
Use this serum daily on your face and neck area. Store in a dry cool place.
Toning Coffee Infused Body Butter
Toning Coffee Infused Body Butter
This luxurious coffee body butter moisturizes and tones skin! Use it daily on problem areas to reduce the appearance of cellulite and uneven skin.
Homemade whipped body butter is simple to make and can often be made with butters and oils you have in your kitchen. Essential oils can be added or you can infuse herbs and spices into your oils.
With this recipe I used coffee, which is amazing for your skin and can help to tone and tighten problem areas.
Coffee infused body butter ingredients
Just four ingredients here, so you’ll want to make sure they’re great – this is stuff you’re putting all over your body, after all!
1/4 Cup Organic Coffee Beans
1/2 Cup Virgin Coconut Oil
1/2 Cup Cocoa Butter
1/2 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
And once you have your ingredients, it’s time to get started!
How to make coffee infused body butter
Infused oils are incredible and can be used in both skincare and baking. I’ve made calendula infused coconut oil as well as vanilla coconut oil. Infusing coffee into coconut oil is simple and can be done in under a half hour.
To start you’ll melt 1/2 cup of virgin coconut oil in a saucepan on low heat. Add 1/4 cup of whole organic coffee beans. Keep the oil on low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
pouring the coconut oil + coffee bean mixture into a strainer to strain off the coconut oil
Use a fine mesh strainer to strain the coconut oil from the coffee beans.
Next, melt the cocoa butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add olive oil and coffee infused coconut oil.
Refrigerate the oils for 25-30 minutes, or until the oils just begin to solidify.
Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to whip the oils into butter. This will take 10-15 minutes to achieve a soft and fluffy texture.
Scoop the coffee body butter into a storage container and store in a cool dry place. Use daily on dry or problem areas.

Lotion Bars
INGREDIENTS
1 part coconut oil (example: 4 ounces)
1 part organic shea butter or organic cocoa butter (example: 4 ounces)
1 part pure beeswax (example: 4 ounces) or carnauba wax (vegan)
(optional) Essential Oils (lavender, frankincense, and orange essential oils are my favorite oils to use)
Cook Mode
INSTRUCTIONS
Heat coconut oil, shea butter, and beeswax together in a saucepan over low heat. It helps if you break up the beeswax into small chunks because it takes a while for the wax to melt. You can also use beeswax pastilles, which will melt faster.
Once the beeswax, coconut oil, and shea butter are melted, add essential oils. I like to use vanilla, sweet orange, and lavender. I’m sensitive to strong fragrances so I only add 10-15 drops of essential oil per 2 ounces of oil. Alternatively, you can make an unscented lotion bar and leave out all fragrance oils.
Pour melted coconut oil and beeswax into lotion bar molds or muffin tins.
Let them sit until cool. You can also place them in the refrigerator if you need to speed up the process.
This recipe will make six 2 oz bar or molds.
How To Use Lotion Bars
If you haven’t used a lotion bar before, you should read this first before trying! The first time I used a lotion bar I had some trouble. No one explained to me how to use them. I ended up bringing it into the shower with me and used it like a bar of soap. It worked pretty well as a moisturizer, but a lot of it would wash off in the shower. Later I figured out that you’re not supposed to use it in the shower (though I still keep one in my shower because we like to use it the wrong way). Instead, you will use your body temperature to warm the lotion bar by rubbing it in your hands first. Then, apply it on your skin like regular lotion. I really like to use hard lotion on my elbows, knees and heels, since those are the areas where I have very dry skin that needs extra nourishment. Remember to store the lotion bars out of direct sunlight to prevent them from melting.
