Twin Barn Shepherd's Huts
We are excited to be opening again from 12th April, with our new hut Isabelle now taking bookings too.
Cosy, colourful and chic glamping
Set in the heart of Norfolk, in complete isolation, yet only minutes from Norwich, the Norfolk Broads and the beautiful North Norfolk beaches. The perfect place to hide away from the world, rediscover nature and spend time recharging your energy under the big Norfolk skies.
Our beautifully crafted shepherd's huts offer luxurious boutique accommodation for couples who want peace, quiet and solitude in the stunning countryside of Norfolk.
If you need to bring the children, then Lola is available to accommodate two extra alongside our new hut, Isabelle.
Private hot tubs are also available to supplement your relaxation in the idyllic location.
Ideal for self catered holiday accommodation in the heart of Norfolk; an alternative to the traditional B&B or hotel for those needing to be near Norwich for work; or a quirky place to stay for those visiting UEA, the science park or further a field. Whatever your reason to be visiting the area, our shepherd's hut is an ideal place to stay.
There are currently two huts to choose from: our luxury, romantic two berth shepherd's hut known as 'Charlotte-Rose', decorated with William Morris wallpaper, giving a cosy, romantic feel, or Isabelle, designed for a family of four, with our refurbished Gypsy Wagon 'Lola' alongside, for two children (or small adults) to sleep in. Isabelle is decorated in a modern, light and fresh colour scheme and can be booked for two, three or four occupants.
Charlotte-Rose is fitted out with all mod cons and beautifully designed, with a comfortable double bed, solid oak wooden floor, butler sink, oven and hob, fridge, wood burner, hot running water, heating and an ensuite shower room.
After a comfortable night's sleep you can either have a continental breakfast basket, or for an extra charge, the fridge will be filled with local produce so that you can make yourself a full English breakfast.
Isabelle has a more modern feel, decorated in light colours with colourful accessories and is more spacious, with indoor dining for four. To occupy the children or for snuggling down to an evening film there is a TV/DVD, with a selection of DVDs provided.
*images show unfinished interior with light fittings etc still to be completed.
Lola, our refurbished Gypsy Wagon is alongside for the children ( or two small adults).
Charlotte-Rose has a wood-burning stove for warming your toes, an electric heater, is fully insulated and has double glazed windows
Isabelle has an electric heater and a TV/DVD
There is plenty of outside space, with external seating for starlit dining
The ensuite shower room consists of a shower, basin, toilet and heated towel rail
Fully equipped kitchen area, no need to bring anything but food
Small dogs welcome for an additional fee of £2/night
PLEASE NOTE - access to all huts is via steps and therefore will not be suitable for people with limited mobility
Although Charlotte-Rose only accommodates two, there is plenty of room on the field for an extra tent to be pitched for an additional charge of £10 per night. Your additional guests would have to share your facilities though
Our wood-fired 2 person hot tubs are also available to add to your luxurious, relaxing escape and can be booked as extra with both Charlotte- Rose and Isabelle
and also ... Lola
Little Lola is available to hire for additional guests to sleep in, whilst sharing the facilities of Isabelle. Best suited to accommodate young children (or smaller adults <5'10" ).
During these unprecedented times, we recognise that people will be nervous about booking a holiday or weekend break in advance. What if we can't travel then? What if we are ill? Will we be able to maintain social distancing whilst staying in the Shepherd's hut?
To put your mind at rest we will:
refund deposits if lockdown is announced;
not request full payment until two weeks before your stay (if you book direct);
refund your payment if you are unable to travel or;
transfer your booking to a suitable alternative date if you are unable to travel;
keep our distance. As sole users of Charlotte-Rose or Isabelle you can easily maintain social distancing and keys etc can be passed over avoiding direct contact;
ensure the Shepherd's Hut is thoroughly cleaned in between each guest;
provide hand sanitiser and anti bacterial wipes.
If you have any other requirements or would like further reassurance, please get in contact by email or phone.
Since starting to welcome guests on 7th July 2021, running Charlotte-Rose has created 0.597 tonnes of CO2e in 6 months. To offset this now and for the future, we are planting a tree (Populus Tremula - Trembling Aspen) on the corner of her pitch.
If you would like to offset the emissions of your journey, you can use the carbon emissions calculator below.
